Answer: My hometown is in Himachal Pradesh. There is a small town named Sundernagar in Mandi District. Suket was once a prince’s state. There are lots of shrines found in the town such as Mahamaya Temple, Hateshwari, the builder of temples in this town, and a manmade lake.
Q 2 : Is your village large or is it a small town?
Answer: My home place is a village city that is located near NH 154 and also has a good network of roads connecting it to other places.
Q 3: Describe your Hometown and what it is like.
Answer:
It is a beautiful destination near popular destinations such as Kullu, Manali, Rohtang, etc. The man-made lake in my town is a popular holiday destination because of its stunning beauty and abundance of holy pilgrimage sites. The town is mostly pleasurable in the whole course of the year.
Q 4: How long have you been living there?
Answer:
I have been living in my hometown since I was born. I have completed my schooling here and currently, I am living in Chandigarh, due to further studies.
Q 5: How often do you visit your hometown?
Answer: I visit my hometown during the college holidays to spend time with family and friends.
Q 6: Do you like your hometown? If Yes, then Why, if No, then Why not?
Answer: Yes, I indeed like my hometown. It is located on the highway and is famous for its temples and lake. Mostly, people love to stop while traveling to Kullu, Manali for quick snacking near the picturesque lake as it has made the town more alluring as a tourist destination. I also like the hospitality of people in my hometown and the local cuisine.

Q 7: Is there anything you dislike about your hometown?
Answer:
I love my hometown, but as the metaphor says, every rose has thorns. There are certain things that I dislike. There is traffic congestion in the city during the summer holidays due to tourist visits to nearby attractions. But the city is getting better every day due to the construction of a four-lane highway.
Q 8: What things do you like the most about your hometown? Why?
Answer:
My home town is situated in the mountains and is full of lush greenery as there are a variety of trees and flowers. The traditional cuisine that is served here called “ Dham” is my favorite. I always look forward to having Dham whenever I visit my hometown.
Q 9: Do you like to live in your hometown? Why/Why not?
Answer:
Yes, I prefer to live in my town because it is quiet. In this town, blue deep water is waving with green hills around hills. However, this is not the case, and I have to live far away from both family and town due to the unavailability of job opportunities.
Q 10: Has your hometown changed much since you were a child?
Answer: Yes, things have changed greatly in my hometown since childhood since there are new buildings, two lanes, and restaurants (there were only a few in my childhood). The metamorphosis over the years has significantly been amazing.
Q 11: Are there any changes you would like to make in your hometown?
Answer:
Yes, there is a need to have a speed limit every 10 minutes on the road so that rash driving can be controlled because accidents are very common due to overspeed.
Q 12: What kind of jobs do the people in your town/village do?
Answer: Many residents in my city are trained professionals who are employed by the government and teach in schools. The proportion of those people who have their own business in the town stands at about 20%.
Q 13: What kind of place do you live in (an individual house or an apartment)?
Answer: Well, I live in a house. It has around 6 rooms, a living area, and a kitchen garden.
Q 14: Are there some museums or monuments in your hometown?
Answer: These are some of the beautiful attractions, which include a Man-made lake, Shukdev Vatika with an ancient cave inside its garden, and Murari Devi temple.
Q 15: Where did your friends originate and also are they all from one of the same places that you grew up in?
Answer: Surely, in my childhood years, we had to enjoy together. We attended the same school and used the time after classes to be together.
Q 16: What would you say about transport facilities to your town?
Answer: Public transport is relatively good in my town. In it are just buses that tend down the lane with a frequency of every 10 minutes. Bus connectivity to Sunder Nagar from other cities such as Chandigarh, Delhi, Shimla, and Jammu are also offered via various bus services in frequent intervals.
Q 17: . Do many people visit your town?
Answer:
Several tourists visit every summer during summer breaks. They come from nearby cities like Delhi, and Chandigarh to get away from the hustle and bustle and enjoy the peaceful and calmness of the place. Many international tourists visit by renting their bikes to watch the scenic view of nearby famous tourist places.
The topic of hometown speaking part 1 of IELTS is comprised of various questions that the examiner can ask like the hometown location, tourist places, transportation facilities, attractions, and personal preferences.
