We depend on the environment for food, fresh air and water, recreation, inspiration and wellbeing, but every day we see how humans are altering and affecting the environment. If you want to contribute to a more sustainable future, a major in ecology gives you the skills and knowledge to make a difference on some of the ‘big issues’ facing humanity. Ecology examines the factors that drive the distribution and abundance of organisms in the environment. Media students today are preparing for jobs that might not exist yet, and we’re wholeheartedly embracing this reality at La Trobe. Our practice-based approach delivers one of the most innovative degree programs in media and communication in Australia. Our academic staff are passionate media practitioners whose expertise is sought after nationally and internationally, and who are working on a number of collaborative projects with our students as part of the coursework.
