IELTS Test Fees in India

The IELTS test fee in India varies depending on the test type. Please refer below table the table below for detailed information on IELTS test fees:

IDP Education conducts IELTS examinations in India. The IELTS exam is conducted multiple times throughout the year without restricting the number of attempts. The registration, cancellation, and examination changes are done per the rules made by the organizing body. Candidates who wish to take the IELTS Academic and General exam must pay a registration fee of INR 17,000 . You can pay the fee online through e-wallets, debit/credit cards, via demand draft, or net banking. 

If you are dissatisfied with your current score, you have the option to request a revaluation. In order to do so, you will need to pay a fee of INR 11,625 .  If you need to change the date of your IELTS test , you must submit a request for rescheduling at least 5 weeks prior to the initially scheduled date by paying INR 3,300 . Furthermore, if you decide to cancel your IELTS exam before the scheduled date, and it is more than 5 weeks in advance, you may be eligible for a refund. However, there will be a deduction of 25% for administrative fees.

IELTS Exam Fee for General and Academic Test

The IELTS exam fee for both Academic and General tests varies depending on the location. IELTS test fee for academic and general in India are both the same price, at INR 17,000 . It's important to note that the test fee is paid in the local currency, and there may be slight differences in price between cities or institutions. Regardless of the test type, IELTS results are accepted by thousands of institutions worldwide.

IELTS exam fees has been raised for both the Pen and paper-based IELTS and Computer-delivered IELTS exams to INR 17,000. Individuals who wish to take either the Computer-delivered IELTS exam or the Pen and paper-based IELTS exam will now be required to pay an examination fee of INR 17,000 in order to register for the IELTS exam.

Similarly, the fees for the Computer-delivered IELTS for UKVI have been revised to INR 17,250. The examination fee for the IELTS Life Skills (A1 and B1) has been adjusted to INR 16,050, while the fee for the IELTS for UK Visas and Immigration has been updated to INR 17,250.

IELTS Rescheduling Fee

The IELTS rescheduling fee is the charge imposed when you change the date of your IELTS test within five weeks of the original test date. If you reschedule or cancel your test within this timeframe, you will be required to pay the full fee unless you have a serious medical reason. 

If candidates wish to change their test date, they must submit a request for a test day transfer at least five weeks prior to their scheduled test date and cover the cost of cancellation or postponement. Furthermore, the new test date must fall within three months of the original date. Candidates are required to pay an administrative fee of INR  ₹3,300 , inclusive of all taxes, in order to change their examination date.

IELTS Revaluation Fee

Candidates may request a recheck of their IELTS exam score if they are dissatisfied with the results. They must keep in mind that the deadline is six weeks after the test date. The candidate must fill out the application and mail it in together with the fee of INR 11,625  (including all taxes). The fee must be paid by demand draft made out to "IDP EDUCATION INDIA PRIVATE LIMITED," payable in New Delhi. Only if the outcome is altered will the fee be returned. Processing time for this can range from two to four weeks.

IELTS Cancellation Fee

• If candidates withdraw their IELTS application five weeks prior to the test date, they will be given a refund less the 25% administrative cost.
   
• If a candidate cancels their IELTS exam less than five weeks prior to the exam date, they will not receive a refund.
   
• If a candidate doesn't show up for the test, there won't be a refund. However, a refund less 25% of the test cost will be given if an applicant submits a medical certificate within three days of the test date. 
   

IELTS Mode of Payment

Credit/Debit Card (Visa or Mastercard) and Netbanking: Conveniently pay online using your credit or debit card or netbanking facility.

Demand Draft: Issue a demand draft drawn in favor of "IDP EDUCATION INDIA PRIVATE LIMITED, Payable at New Delhi," from one of the approved banks listed in the Terms & Conditions document.

Bank Deposit: Make a cash deposit into ICICI/HDFC bank branches using a customized deposit slip. You can download the deposit slip from the IELTS IDP India website or obtain it from the nearest IELTS IDP branch office/referral partner. Ensure to attach the original customer copy of the deposit slip along with your IELTS application form.
