Differences between IELTS Academic and IELTS General Training

The main difference between IELTS Academic and IELTS General Training is the Reading and Writing sections.

The Reading section in the Academic exam includes more academic texts, such as articles from academic journals and textbooks. The Writing section in the Academic exam requires you to write an essay in response to an academic prompt.

The Reading and Writing sections in the General Training exam are more focused on general interest topics and on practical writing tasks.
