The University of Sheffield in the UK plans to grant 125 International Postgraduate (PG) Taught Merit Scholarships for 2024. The University of Sheffield postgraduate international scholarships will award £5,000 (Rs 5 lakh) to each eligible recipient, covering their tuition fees for a postgraduate program starting in September 2024. These scholarships are available to new international students who meet the requirements. 

To be eligible for the scholarship, candidates need to receive an offer letter for a full course of study at the University of Sheffield. The offer letter must be for the program starting in the autumn of 2024. 

 

Important Dates to Remember

 

• The scholarship applications will start in late Autumn 2023.

 

• The scholarship deadline date is 13th May 2024. That is on Monday till 1.00 pm (UK time).

 

• The results of the scholarship will be announced on Monday, 10 June 2024.

 

• If you receive the scholarship, you must confirm acceptance and offer by a fixed date.

Eligibility criteria

 

Here are the eligibility criteria for the postgraduate taught merit scholarship at the University of Sheffield in the fall of 2024.
 

• There are no scholarships for distance learning courses.

 

• To be eligible for a scholarship, it is necessary to receive an offer for a complete course of study at the University of Sheffield. Scholarships are not available for master's programs divided between the University of Sheffield and a partner institution.

 

• The Erasmus Mundus and Crossways courses are not eligible for merit scholarships.

 

• To be eligible for tuition fee purposes, you must be responsible for funding yourself and obligated to cover the cost of international tuition fees.

 

• Must not be a sponsored student.

 

• All MArch programs are not eligible for undergraduate scholarships since they are regarded as postgraduate taught programs for scholarship purposes.

 

• Merit scholarships are available exclusively to students enrolled in the Masters portion of integrated PhD programs.

 

• No postgraduate courses where the increased clinical charge is applicable are eligible for these scholarships.

6. MMedSci in Diagnostic Oral Pathology.

• The University of Sheffield has the authority to assess and modify its scholarship offerings.

 

Selection criteria

 

The selection process is highly competitive, and not all applications will be approved. A committee comprised of senior staff members will carefully evaluate each application and focus on the following criteria:

 

• The applicant has provided instances of accomplishments that demonstrate excellence and proactive involvement in academic, volunteer, or occupational domains.

 

• The applicant has explained how these accomplishments relate to the University of Sheffield programme they are applying for and how that relates to their future ambitions.

 

• The Applicant has a strong academic profile.

 

It is important to note that the International Postgraduate Taught Merit Scholarship 2024 cannot be awarded if you got the following scholarships:

 

• International Postgraduate Taught Scholarship 2024.

 

• NCUK Postgraduate Taught Scholarship 2024.

 

• Professor David Locker Scholarship in Social Science, Oral Health and Dentistry 2024.

 

• Sir Sze-yuen Chung Postgraduate Merit Scholarship 2024.

 

• MBA Scholarship 2024.

 

• GREAT Scholarship 2024 for Egypt and Malaysia.
