Australia study visa requirements after graduation

If you are an international student studying in Australia and you wish to remain in the country after graduation, you may be eligible for a Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485), also known as the Graduate Work visa or the Post-Study Work

The Temporary Graduate visa allows you to live and work in Australia temporarily after you complete your studies. To be eligible for this visa, you must meet the following requirements:

You must have done a Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree as per the Australian study requirement, that is, the course must have been registered with CRICOS (Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students).

You must have applied for your Temporary Graduate visa within six months of completing your studies, although some exceptions may apply. You must meet the health and character requirements set by the Australian government.

You must meet the English language proficiency requirements, which may vary depending on the type of visa you apply for.

There are two streams under the Temporary Graduate visa: Graduate Work stream and Post-Study Work stream. The Graduate Work stream is for graduates who have skills and qualifications for an occupation on the skilled occupation list.

The Post-Study Work stream is for graduates who do not qualify for the Graduate Work stream and have completed a Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree.
