What is a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP)?
Foreign national who is 18 years old and has studied full-time for at least 8 months in Canada.
Who is eligible for PGWP?
The process to take PGWP will take around 80 to 180 days.
How long does it take to get a PGWP?
You can apply for an LMIA or LMIA exempt permit if you are eligible, but it is best to apply for Canadian permanent residence.
Can I apply for a work permit after my PGWP?
International graduates who apply for a PGWP before the expiry of their study permit can legally work in Canada without awaiting a decision on their application.
Can I work after graduation before I apply for my PGWP?
1. A fee of CAD 255 is charged.
2. If you wish to restore your student status and PGWP, you will have to pay CAD 605.
