Federation University

The Victorian Gold Rush saw the founding of Federation University's starting colleges in 1870, making it the fourth-oldest higher education institution in Australia. The university's name was changed to Federation University in 2014 as a result of the 2013 merger of the University of Ballarat and the Gippsland campus of Monash University. 

Federation University Australia (Fed Uni) is a public, multi-sector university with campuses in Ararat, Horsham, Stawell, Churchill, Berwick, and Brisbane, as well as online technical and further education (TAFE) courses and Horsham's higher education nursing program.

• More than 284 undergraduate and graduate paths and programmes in Allied Health, the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, Engineering, ICT, and Nursing are available through Federation University Australia.
• Graduate Diploma Mining, Graduate Diploma Management, and Graduate Diploma Technology are among the diploma programmes FedUni offers in addition to undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Students can also participate in exchange and study abroad programmes that expose them to education and research in a foreign setting.
• Six diploma courses, four certificate courses, 13 Ph.D. courses, and 58 bachelor's and 62 graduate degrees are all available through Federation University Australia. For overseas students, 174 courses are provided in total.
• The schools of Arts, Business, Education, Health, Science, Psychology, and Sport, as well as the schools of Engineering, Information Technology, Physical Sciences, and TAFE, are all located within Federation University.
• The Arts Academy on Camp Street is well-known for its innovative fusion of modern and old structures, including specialty theatres and galleries. Students take performing and visual arts courses in settings that promote experimentation and innovation.
• The Wimmera campus has up-to-date training facilities, a hair salon, plumbing that meets industrial standards, and auto and construction workshops. Contains training facilities for computers, art, and design.

Several lodging choices are available at Federation University on or near campuses in Ballarat, Gippsland, and Berwick. According to FedUni research, Australian students who live in university residences as compared to alternative types of housing are more likely to devote time to their studies and successfully adjust to university life.

First-year full time students are all assured of housing at the university. They must submit an accommodation request and accept the offer, including paying the application and acceptance costs. Students can find short term housing at Ballarat, Berwick, and Gippsland campuses.

Numerous scholarships and loans are offered by Federation University to overseas students who wish to study in Australia. High achieving international students may also qualify for the High Achievers Scholarship, worth of around 18,000 AUD plus one year of on campus housing.
