Deakin College (previously known as Melbourne Institute of Business and Technology) offers pathway and language programs to students to prepare them for higher studies at Deakin University. The Waurn Ponds campus is one of Deakin University’s original campuses and has grown significantly over the years. Situated approximately 75 kilometres southwest of Melbourne in Waurn Ponds, it is part of the city of Geelong. The campus is home to various state-of-the-art faculties and research centres like the Faculty of Science, Engineering and Built Environment, the Faculty of Health, the Institute for Frontier Materials, and the Carbon Nexus Research Centre. Students who successfully complete their pathway courses at Deakin College secure direct admission into the second year of a relevant bachelor’s program at Deakin University.
