About Gold Coast campus
Southern Cross University's Gold Coast campus is located at Coolangatta, just 400 metres from North Kirra Beach and adjacent to the Gold Coast Airport. Views of the Pacific Ocean and Gold Coast Hinterland can be enjoyed from many vantage points in the campus buildings.

Our course options reflect the growth and diversity of the city itself. They include arts, nursing, midwifery, occupational therapy, podiatry and pedorthics, psychological science, speech pathology, social science and social welfare, business, education, information technology, law and tourism.

Situated at the southern end of the Gold Coast, the campus is about 30 minutes’ drive from major shopping, entertainment and beach precincts such as Surfers Paradise and Broadbeach. Light rail connects to other points of the city. To the south of our campus, the coastal and hinterland delights of northern New South Wales are within ready access.

Bachelor of Early Childhood Education

Up to eight units advanced standing will be available for the Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care. You may be able to gain advanced standing for previous study. This will depend on what previous study you have done. Advanced standing assessments are undertaken through MySCU, or upon enrolment.
There is a very high demand for qualified early childhood educators in early childhood education centres and preschools.
This three-year degree (or 2.5 years fast tracked*) is an ACECQA approved early childhood teacher qualification for early childhood settings with children from birth to five years. [Please check specific requirements in your state or territory for early childhood teachers.]

Our cutting-edge course draws on the Faculty of Education’s leading research in early childhood education and development.

Core units cover early childhood principles and practices, child development theory and application, supporting children’s learning and pedagogical approaches for early childhood education. You will also investigate contemporary issues in early childhood education, leadership and management; the arts, and health and wellbeing in the early childhood environment.

Up to eight units advanced standing will be available for the Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care, or equivalent.

You’ll complete 85 days of professional teaching experiences as part of your degree in a range of early childhood environments, enabling you to apply your theoretical knowledge in real world educational settings.

Diploma in Business

Looking for a pathway to a Bachelor degree in business, information technology or tourism?

The one-year Diploma of Business gives you the opportunity to develop academic and business skills in areas that could include business, finance, management, economics, marketing, tourism and information technology. In addition to core units, you may choose a specialisation in either business and enterprise, information technology, tourism or business.

Successful completion of the Diploma will guarantee you entry and up to eight units of credit towards a Southern Cross University Bachelor degree in business and enterprise or information technology.

The following requirements must be fulfilled to get admitted to the Southern Cross University

International students are considered on a case-by-case basis. There can be some additional requirements, depending on the program you are applying to.
Students are required to submit their original transcripts from their last attended academic institutions. If they are not in English, then submit the translated copies of the same along with the originals.
Financial support statement (original bank statement and sponsor letter).
Passport identification page with machine-readable code visible
Applicants must be 18 years old at the time of the beginning of the course.
You need to submit your English language proficiency test scores if you are coming from a non-English speaking country.
