Camosun College Lansdowne Campus

Established around 40 years ago, Camosun College is a public post-secondary institution offering upgrading, preparatory and continuing education, career and trades training, certificate, bachelor, degree and university transfer and applied degree programs to students from more than 80 countries across the globe and has a graduate employability rate of more than 90%.

Located in Victoria, British Columbia, Camosun College has two beautiful campuses, one at Lansdowne and the other at Interurban and is known for its large and vibrant campus that provides impressive facilities and services to its students. The Camosun International Academic Advancement Scholarship acknowledges high academic achievement and community involvement. It is awarded annually to international students who have completed at least one year of full-time studies in an academic program at Camosun College.

To be eligible to apply for the Academic Advancement Scholarship, students must:

1. Be an international student studying at Camosun College with a valid study permit,
2. Have successfully completed at least two full-time semesters in an academic program by the scholarship application deadline,
3. Have a GPA of 7.0 (A-) or higher,
4. Have volunteered or been involved in projects that contribute to Camosun College student community and/or other communities in Victoria, and,
5. Complete and submit the following documents to Camosun International:
   1. Scholarship Application Form
   2. A one page Cover Letter outlining your community involvement and/or volunteer activities
   3. A Reference Letter from your volunteer and/or community project supervisor

Dr. Gordon L. Diewert Community Service:

• Entrance Award Value: $1000 The award is granted annually in the Fall of each year for a first-year Camosun student attending full-time, on the basis of good academic high school performance (minimum B average in grade 12) and leadership and/or community service. The recipient must have demonstrated participation in volunteer activities associated with the prevention of drinking and driving. Preference will be given to a student who took a leadership role in their high school Dry Grad activities.

Camosun provides its student labs for ideation and innovation, houses a technology access centre and co-op and career services. Students have access to workout sessions and the recreation centre which holds fitness classes and provides training. The college’s library offers both in-person and remote services and comes with many articles and databases, books, media and workshops and events.

Students can find rooms on rent and homestays as accommodations to live close to the campus. 

Rooms on lease can be opted for as long as the student wants and may be done based on an agreement. While living in a homestay may still come under a contract, it is semi-formal with different kinds of people as hosts.
