Prince Rupert
Northwest Community College popularly known as Coast Mountain College (CMTN) is a highly acclaimed post-secondary academic institution located in Northern British Columbia. It was established in 1975 at Terrace under the name North West Community College (NWCC) and was renamed CMTN in 2018. The college has six regional campus locations in British Columbia communities namely: Hazelton, Haida Gwaii, Queen Charlotte, Prince Rupert, Smithers and Terrace.
The main campus spawns 30 acres that is approximately 5 kilometres from downtown terrace. CNTM offers its students state of the art facilities, small class sizes, well equipped study centers, health and wellness services and many more. Students can also sign up for online courses, university credit programs, trades foundation and apprenticeship programs. The students are also encouraged to participate in community outreach programs and participate in giving back to the community.
CMTN has abundance of trained teachers and experts who support the students at every step and help them understand the details even better. The abundant success of students graduating from CMTN can also be credited to the exceptional student services and academic services provided to the students. Students are given the option of place based learning allowing them to learn both in classrooms and outdoor spaces.
The campus provides a range of facilities to students including a library, IT services, food services, transportation services, just to name a few. The campus has several digital textbooks, merchandise and course material and ensures that the students get access to the best virtual labs, IT facilities, internet etc.
College campuses provide students with safe and secure environments where they may live their daily lives without worrying about anything. There are counsellors available to help the students deal with any worries that they might have, and also sports facilities where students can participate in sporting events whenever they feel inspired to do so. In addition, there are public transportation options available for students who need assistance getting to and from campus; these features allow for freedom for college-goers to choose how they want to get around on campus. Besides, various types of conferences and events are also held on the campus for the students.
College provides housing facilities to international students on the Terrace campus. Here, students are provided with a range of facilities including, internet, parking, laundry, kitchen, cafeteria etc. In addition to this, dining facilities are available for students on campus.
The college has a huge alumni network of around 40 years who are spread all across the globe. Through a range of activities and events, the college tries to keep alumni connected to the campus. Stan Persky- Writer (Media Commenter and Instructor), Jennifer Rice (Politician), George Stanley (Poet) and Skeena Reece (Artist) are some of the most notable alumni of the college.

The Associate of Arts and Associate of Science Degrees are provincial credentials offered by many institutions in the BC Transfer System. The associate degree is designed to provide an educational experience that prepares students for life as an educated person, and to lay a solid foundation for further study.
The associate degree curriculum comprises two years of university level study in a variety of academic areas. Students are required to complete a broad range of course offerings balanced with in-depth study in specific disciplines. Since many students will continue their studies, the requirements are sufficiently flexible to enable students to complete the required prerequisites for upper level course work in their intended major. Associate of Science in Environmental Geoscience Specialization
The Environmental Geoscience program provides a balance of theoretical and applied course work designed to challenge students to think critically, analyze problems, and seek resolutions; strengthen communication skills; and deliver a range of other employable skills. Environmental Geoscience students will enhance their theoretical learning with applied skills in scientific communication, environmental analysis, and biogeography.
