Northwest Community College popularly known as Coast Mountain College (CMTN) is a highly acclaimed post-secondary academic institution located in Northern British Columbia. It was established in 1975 at Terrace under the name North West Community College (NWCC) and was renamed CMTN in 2018. The college has six regional campus locations in British Columbia communities namely: Hazelton, Haida Gwaii, Queen Charlotte, Prince Rupert, Smithers and Terrace.
The main campus spawns 30 acres that is approximately 5 kilometres from downtown terrace. CNTM offers its students state of the art facilities, small class sizes, well equipped study centers, health and wellness services and many more. Students can also sign up for online courses, university credit programs, trades foundation and apprenticeship programs. The students are also encouraged to participate in community outreach programs and participate in giving back to the community.

On-Campus Housing: CMTN provides well-equipped housing options on campus to its students. The housing complex can accommodate both single and family students. It gives completely furnished apartments to its students, with a total of 89 student housing units and nine family housing units. Every unit also comes with a kitchenette with essential cooking appliances.
Off-Campus Accommodations: In addition, CMTN has an off-campus living facility and an apartment locator. Students can arrive on time and hunt for a room, an apartment flat, or a studio apartment in the institution's proximity. The university's student associations assist students in finding off-campus housing and navigating the process.
The homestay program matches students with a family that helps students adjust to the new city by providing guidance and directions.
Stan Persky (Canadian writer, media commentator and instructor), Skeena Reece (Canadian First Nations Artist), Jennifer Rice (Canadian politician, Member of the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia for North Coast), George Stanley (American-born Canadian poet), Marie-Lucie Tarpent, (French-born Canadian linguist and professor) are some of the famous alumni who graduated from Coast Mountain College.
