Chitkara University

The Chitkara Educational Trust established its Punjab campus 30 kilometers from Chandigarh, on the Chandigarh-Patiala National Highway in the year 2002. The Punjab State Legislature established Chitkara University in 2010 under the “Chitkara University Act”.

According to Section 2(f) and 22(1) of the University Grant Commission Act of 1956, Chitkara University is the best institution in Punjab and is authorized to award degrees.

The University has campuses in Chandigarh, Mohali, Panchkula, Ambala, and Patiala, all equidistant from one another. Chitkara University's multi-disciplinary courses are designed to be industry-relevant, and as a result, are considered one of the top private universities in northern India.
