Le Cordon Bleu New Zealand Wellington Campus Accomodation

Le Cordon Bleu New Zealand is located in the centre of Wellington city. We are able to recommend a range of options close to the school for Le Cordon Bleu students and are happy to provide advice and assistance if required. Options include hostels, homestays, flats and other short-term or long-term accommodation solutions.

Short Term Accommodation
For short-term stays, students may wish to use backpacker or budget hotel accommodation. This is a great option for those who are unsure about where they would like to live and allows students to have a look at a range of options before making a long-term commitment. Prices start at approximately $30/night for a bed in a secure dormitory to approximately $140/night (minimum 7 days) for a serviced studio apartment. However, bear in mind that budget hotels and backpackers inns are for those who are more socially active and outgoing as you will be living in a mix with other young professionals and students. If you value your quiet time, this may not be a good fit.

Student Hostel - Medium to Long Stay
Hostel living is a very convenient accommodation option as it allows students to live close to the campus in a warm and comfortable environment. The following table has a list of accommodation providers that provide single rooms with shared facilities, all within an easy walking distance of the school. Hostel rooms are usually (but not always) furnished with a bed, desk and wardrobe, with communal spaces for cooking and relaxing with other students. Hostel living is a great way to meet other students and a good option for those who want to be located close to the school and the vibrant dining and entertainment district in Wellington. However, bear in mind that student hostel living is for those who are more socially active and outgoing as you will be living in a mix with other university students. If you value your quiet time, this may not be a good fit.

Student Accommodation/Apartments - Medium to Long Stay
There are many studios, one, two, and three-bedroom apartments close to the school. All have their own kitchen and bathroom facilities. The level of comfort is very high. Apartments can be furnished or unfurnished. Prices start around $300+ per week for a studio or one-bedroom apartment. The cost of one room in a two or three-bedroom apartment starts at around $250 per week.

Private Flatting / House sharing
Students can share rental accommodation with other students. This is called 'flatting' and suits some people very well. The cost of this sort of accommodation will vary along with the quality. Private rental accommodation usually suits students who have been in New Zealand for some time, and who would like increased independence. Students can expect to pay anywhere from $200 to $350 rent per week for a room in a flat (house) and then pay a share of the other costs such as power and food in addition to rent. Most flats are unfurnished. Two to four weeks refundable bond will be required. We recommend previewing accommodations prior to signing an agreement. The website TradeMe is the most popular in New Zealand if you wish to find a room in a shared house or flat.

Homestay
Staying with a homestay family is a good option for international students who want to live in a family environment and practice their English. It is a great way to acclimatise to a new country and get to know the surroundings.Le Cordon Bleu New Zealand works with Host Families NZ to provide high-quality homestay services. All families are assessed for suitability, and each family has a contractual obligation to meet minimum standards, for example, a warm and comfortable bedroom, and a friendly and comfortable environment. Homestay houses are usually not within walking distance of our campus, and students applying for homestay accommodation should be prepared to travel to school by public transport.
