Pathways to Birmingham City University

Opened less than five years ago, BCUIC provides undergraduate and postgraduate pathways to Birmingham City University for international students who do not meet the University’s direct entry requirements – enabling them to progress on to a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.

BCUIC is part of the global Navitas Group, an internationally recognised education provider with the knowledge and resources of staff from more than 35 different colleges and campuses worldwide.The College provides pathways to over 130 undergraduate and postgraduate courses at Birmingham City University, with a 95 per cent successful progression rate.

Birmingham City University is a comprehensive and student-centred place of higher learning. It is home to around 25,800 students from 80 different countries. Students enjoy studying in the professional and friendly atmosphere of Birmingham.

A range of subjects can be chosen from the four faculties at Birmingham – Faculty of Health, Education and Life Sciences; Faculty of Computing, Engineering and the Built Environment; Faculty of Business, Law and Social Sciences; Faculty of Arts, Design and Media.

Students can pick from a varied number of services at the University, including accommodation and immigration support, financial assistance, career and job advice, and health and wellbeing support. The Centre for Academic Success helps students improve their academic writing skills through workshops and tutorials.

Birmingham students are highly employable, with 94% of undergraduate students finding employment or starting further studies 6 months from graduating.

An investment of £260 million has already been made towards major facilities and the city centre campus at Eastside. One of the latest developments includes a £57 million Birmingham Conservatoire, which is world famous. The conservatoire received its ‘royal’ status last year, meaning that it is now known as the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.

The Students’ Union is an independent organisation, run by students. Besides helping with academic and money matters, the union ensures they become part of the vibrant sports and recreation life on campus.

Birmingham is the UK’s second-largest city, with a long history of welcoming international students. There are scores of things to do and see in the city, including over 50 festivals held every year. It is also a cherished spot for sport lovers, and a great place for entertainment.

Birmingham City University comprises three main campuses, with additional sites located throughout the city – including one of the largest jewellery schools in the world.

• The Heights
  • A walk from the city centre. Convenient for students based at our City Centre Campus who are after city living.
• Queens Hospital Close
  • The accommodation is located on Bath Row, just a 20-minute walk to City South Campus and less than a mile from the City Centre shopping, restaurants and bars.

Navitas family bursaries :
Value
The bursary is equivalent to 10% of the tuition fee for up to 8 units of study within one program only with a Navitas member institution. The bursary does not apply to additional units or repeat units that may also be undertaken and excludes mixed English options.

Eligibility :

• Family Bursary applies where two or more students from the same family study at a Navitas institution.
• The first family member can be studying at a Navitas institution at the same time as the other family members or may have studied at any Navitas institution previously.
• The family bursary is granted to the second and subsequent family members who study at a Navitas institution.
• Not have previously received a Navitas scholarship or bursary, or had a scholarship or bursary from Navitas withdrawn.

Definitions

• For the purpose of this bursary, a family member is defined as a husband, wife, brother, sister, mother, father, son, daughter or stepchild.

Conditions

• Successful recipients will not receive any money from the Navitas member institution. The value of the bursary will be recorded on the student's account each semester of study.
• The bursary does not apply to additional units or repeat units that may also be undertaken.
• Navitas bursary is not applicable to English language program or any component of any English language program offered by Navitas member institutions. For more information Click Here

BCUIC is conveniently situated in University House, which can be found on the City Centre Campus of the University. By studying at University House, students will have the advantage of being within walking distance of the main campus and having easy access to a variety of cutting-edge facilities, including a library with an extensive collection of over 135 million resources. Moreover, the prime location of University House ensures that students are just a stone's throw away from some of Birmingham's top attractions, such as the Bullring shopping center and Selfridges, as well as the national rail service at New Street train station.

Students have access to state-of-the-art facilities and cutting-edge technology that will enhance their learning experience. These include the £8.5 million sports center, equipped with an 80-station fitness suite and an 8-court sports hall. There are also new specialized laboratories for Health and Life Sciences, as well as the CITY trading room, which utilizes the same investment analysis software used by professional traders and financial analysts.
