Housing Information
De Anza College, like most community colleges in the U.S., does not offer any dormitories or on-campus housing, but there are many choices for housing in our area which are in close proximity to shopping, restaurants, and bus routes to the campus. This guide will introduce you to a variety of housing options and offer some tips and considerations to guide you in your housing search. Note that the International Student Programs office staff can only give you suggestions on finding housing; we do not make any housing arrangements for students, nor do we review or endorse any housing opportunities.
Homestay
A homestay is a great way to improve your English, make new friends, get to know American culture, and concentrate on your studies without having to worry about household needs. It is also a great medium-term option for new international students who ultimately might want to rent an apartment, but need time to meet roommates and get familiar with the area. Homestays through the organization below are arranged on a two or three month basis.
Students at De Anza College will not have trouble finding counselors and academic advisors who understand their position and can assist them in achieving success. These professionals are ready to help them and answer their concerns about a wide range of issues, including graduation and degree requirements, educational goals, academic progress and probation – among other things. Students may find loads of beneficial information on themes that are relevant to them in the wellness Central, which includes first aid, birth control, nutritional advice, sexual health information, and assistance with stress or sadness. In order to close the achievement gap for underserved students, Student Success and Retention Services (SSRS) is dedicated to building an environment that fosters a community of learners and leaders through innovative services and pedagogies that increase retention, persistence, graduation, transfer, and graduation rates for underserved students.
