Florida Polytechnic University was established on April 20, 2012 to advance the state’s economy. Florida Poly is the nation’s leading institution of change, engineered from the ground up to push the boundaries of education in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).
Florida Poly has about 1,622 undergraduate and graduate students and offers more than 31 programs of study. The University is the only state university in Florida dedicated exclusively to STEM education. Florida Poly offers a dynamic, research-based and hands-on science, technology, engineering, and math education delivered with the small-campus, one-on-one attention most often found at selective private colleges. Florida Poly is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) and ABET, the global accreditor of college and university programs in applied and natural science, computing, engineering, and engineering technology.

The Department of Residential Life partners with students to enhance the residential experience and create an inclusive living-learning environment that encourages students’ emotional, intellectual, and personal growth. Residential Life is committed to providing intentional learning through programmatic offerings, academic connections and social networks while valuing collaboration and being an impactful community member.
The department's goal is to provide students living in university housing with safe, well-maintained facilities and programs that are conducive to student learning and success.
Residence Halls
Our residence halls are steps away from main classrooms and share similar amenities including study rooms, common areas and kitchens, lounges with billiards and ping pong, community pool, and more.
Florida Polytechnic University boasts a modern and advanced campus spread over 170 acres. The campus is home to several key buildings, including the Innovation, Science, and Technology (IST) building, two residence halls, the Student Development Center, Wellness Center, and Admissions Center. The IST building features 11 innovation labs, a digital library, and 94 robotic roof louvers that adjust to changing sunlight patterns. The university offers over 46 student clubs and organizations, along with various dining areas, a bookstore, recreational sports, and other amenities to ensure a lively campus life for students.

Concentrations in Health Systems Engineering
The Health Systems Engineering (HSE) program prepares the architects of tomorrow’s healthcare system to take on its most urgent and complex challenges.

As one of the world’s largest and fastest-growing industries, it is bursting with opportunities to create solutions to perplexing and unique problems that transcend medicine. Those with knowledge of technology, data, and multiple systems, as well as proven skills in hands-on problem solving, are in the perfect position to leverage their talents to transform the industry.
Health systems engineering involves a multidisciplinary approach that applies engineering and analytic principles to all aspects of healthcare. The implementation of engineering techniques combines concepts of advancement, process improvement, health informatics, cost reduction, and quality and safety.
The Florida Poly HSE program provides real-world experience with industry experts and a multidisciplinary faculty to prepare students for a career leading change in healthcare.

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with Concentrations in Advanced Topics (STEM)
The Department of Electrical Engineering offers a comprehensive curriculum that combines rigorous and balanced foundation in physics, mathematics, and computing; core courses in electronics, information systems, and digital systems; and higher-level skill in the analysis and design of systems. You will gain experience with a range of state-of-the-art devices and laboratory tools, progressing toward upper-level coursework and a yearlong senior capstone design project.
Concentrations in Advanced Topics
Students can design their own four-course concentration within the major based on their personal academic and professional pursuits. This unique combination of courses works in concert with other co- and extra-curricular activities, including research experiences, internships, and a wide variety of opportunities in our student organizations.
