Allendale Charter Township
Grand Valley State University was chartered by the Michigan legislature in 1960 in response to the need for a public, four-year college in the state's second largest metropolitan region. In spite of the fact that it is one of America's 100 biggest universities in terms of enrollment, Grand Valley endeavors to make liberal education its foundation for all of its academic programs.GVSU is a comprehensive coeducational university serving nearly 25,000 students as of fall 2018, from all 83 Michigan counties and dozens of other states and foreign countries. It is one of America's 100 largest universities, and employs more than 3,000 people with about 1,780 academic faculty and 1,991 support staff. The university has alumni in all 50 U.S. states, Canada, and 25 countriesThe university consists of eight degree-granting colleges: F.E. Seidman College of Business, College of Community and Public Services, College of Education, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Seymour and Esther Padnos College of Engineering and Computing, College of Health Professions, Kirkhof College of Nursing and Brooks College of Interdisciplinary Studies
