Cleveland State University
Established as a state-assisted university in 1964, Cleveland State University assumed a tradition of excellence when it adopted the buildings, faculty, staff, and curriculum of the former Fenn College, a private institution of 2,500 students that was founded in 1929. Cleveland State University’s historical roots go back to the 19th century. During the 1880s, the Cleveland YMCA began to offer day and evening courses to students who did not otherwise have access to higher education. The YMCA program was reorganized in 1906 as the Association Institute, and this in turn was established as Fenn College in 1929. A significant contribution of Fenn College was its pioneering work in developing internships for students in engineering and business. These internships, as joint ventures between the college and local businesses and industries, provided students with professional contacts and experience as well as an affordable education. Historic Fenn Tower, now student housing, still stands as a reminder of the early years, when Fenn College was known as the "Campus in the Clouds."
The Cleveland-Marshall College of Law traces its origins to 1897 when the Cleveland Law School was founded. It was the first evening law school in the state and one of the first to admit women and minorities. Another evening law school, John Marshall School of Law, was founded in 1916. In 1946, the two schools merged to become the Cleveland-Marshall School of Law. Cleveland-Marshall became part of Cleveland State University in 1969.
On-Campus Housing
Students who choose to live in one of CSU's two on-campus residence halls (Fenn Tower or Euclid Commons) engage in their studies, meet new friends and immerse themselves in fun while living in an all-CSU environment. Students who are interested in living in the residence halls must apply as early as possible and cannot move in without a signed contract. Meal plan purchases are required for all on-campus residents.
Off-Campus Housing
Students who would rather not live in an on-campus residence hall but still want to enjoy the convenience of living in an exciting downtown, close to campus, can choose from modern to historic. There are numerous apartment complexes that can be found in the city and surrounding neighborhoods
The university campus spans 85 acres in an urban environment. The campus is made up of 40 buildings that are employed for teaching, research, housing, administration, and recreation. They are designed in both old and modern architectural styles. The CSU campus's strategic position among a variety of businesses and institutions provides students with numerous internships and other professional possibilities.
Along with the historic landmark Mather Mansion, the nineteen-story state-of-the-art Rhodes Tower, which contains the University Library and teaching facilities, is a notable campus feature. The Bert L. and Iris S. Wolstein Center, which seats 13,000 people, and the Washkewicz College of Engineering's which houses research labs, teaching labs, and simulation labs, are among the institute's other notable features.
The institute also places a strong focus on sports and leisure activities, with teams competing in the Horizon League in all 17 sports each year. Football and basketball, among other sports, are popular at the institute.
Some of the prominent alumni of this institution are Tim Russet, Louis Stokes, and Norris Cole

Bachelor of Chemical Engineering
The Chemical Engineering curriculum prepares the student for a successful career in a dynamic and progressive profession. A chemical engineer may pursue a wide scope of projects. Chemical engineers are responsible for the design and operation of processes that accomplish chemical changes. Examples of such processes are the production of antibiotics, detergents, drugs, paints, plastics, petrochemicals, advanced materials, and synthetics. A chemical engineer may also work on the research and development preceding or accompanying a given process design, or the management of a plant or an entire enterprise. The Cleveland State University chemical engineering curriculum provides a strong foundation to work in energy conservation and utilization, environmental pollution control, as well as the petrochemical industry and many other chemical-related industries. Consistent with mission of the university, college and department, this program has been designed to provide an attractive avenue for students interested in chemical engineering.

Undergraduate Academic Accelerator Pathway (2-Term) - Bachelor of Computer Engineering
Computer hardware engineers research, design, develop, and test computer systems and components such as processors, circuit boards, memory devices, networks, and routers. These engineers discover new directions in computer hardware, which generate rapid advances in computer technology. Computer network architects design and build data communication networks, including local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and intranets. These networks range from small connections between two offices to next-generation networking capabilities such as a cloud infrastructure that serves multiple customers. Computer systems analysts study an organization’s current computer systems and procedures and design information systems solutions to help the organization operate more efficiently and effectively. They bring business and information technology (IT) together by understanding the needs and limitations of both. Computer and information research scientists invent and design new approaches to computing technology and find innovative uses for existing technology. They study and solve complex problems in computing for business, medicine, science, and other fields.
