Springfield
Housing Options:
Every year, more than 1,100 students choose from among four distinct living options - residence halls, townhouses, apartments, and family housing. Our facilities are modern and well maintained.
Living in the campus community can be one of the most rewarding experiences of your college life. The University of Illinois Springfield prides itself on many things. Perhaps most important is our developing sense of a UIS community that is growing on campus each and every day.
The housing needs of freshmen and sophomore students are ideally met by the design of our two residence halls: Lincoln Residence Hall (LRH) and Founders Residence Hall (FRH).
The buildings are three stories high with five student housing wings. Students live in four person suites. A suite consists of two double rooms with a shared semi private bath. Each double room is provided with flexible furniture that can be configured with two beds, two desks, and two dressers. The furniture can be stacked as bunk beds or lofted beds above desks. Each student is provided with two duplex outlets and a data outlet.
Each wing is provided with a lounge, a free laundry facility, and is served by a Resident Assistant.
The University of Illinois at Springfield offers its students a diverse range of services to ensure their academic and personal success. The UIS library provides access to a wide collection of books, journals, and other resources, including online databases and e-books. The UIS Health Services offers medical care, health education programs, and workshops to promote healthy lifestyle habits. The UIS Career Development Center assists students with career planning, job search strategies, and job placement and organizes career fairs and networking events. UIS also provides various student support services such as academic advising, tutoring, counselling, disability services, and international student support. Additionally, UIS offers a variety of extracurricular activities, including clubs and organizations, athletics, performing arts, and cultural events. Overall, the University of Illinois at Springfield provides comprehensive services to ensure its students' success in both their academic and personal lives.
