Geneseo
Founded in 1871, Geneseo is a premier public liberal arts college. Nationally recognized for excellence and value in the liberal arts, Geneseo is known for its exceptional faculty, its welcoming atmosphere, and its reputation for producing successful alumni.
Located on 220 acres in the historic Village of Geneseo, and a short drive from Rochester and Buffalo, Geneseo offers a warm environment for learning and discovery. The campus embodies the classic aesthetic of Northeastern colleges with brick walkways, shade trees, and ivy-draped buildings. 54% of graduates completed internships. 3,846 internships available through Geneseo's Dept. of Career Development. 41% of graduating seniors undertook a research project
Geneseo ranks number one in the nation for four-year graduation rates among comprehensive colleges and is tied for highest freshman retention rate out of any public college or university in New York.
On-Campus Housing
Securing on-campus housing as a freshman or transfer student is a straightforward process that's done mostly online. Remember SUNY Geneseo has a two-year residency requirement. All students must live on campus in College housing for two academic years unless they are commuting from the home of their legal guardian.
Off-Campus Accommodation
Third-year or later exchange students are permitted to reside off-campus. Any exchange student choosing to live off-campus is encouraged to review the information from the Off-Campus Living website and explore housing options through the Housing Registry service.
SUNY Geneseo has carved a niche for itself for the student services it offers. Such services assist students in transitioning easily into the new environment. From services like health and counselling and career development to recreational and athletic facilities, the institute has something to offer to every individual. Some of the support services provided at the campus include tutoring and academic support, academic advisement, student development workshops, centre for sexual health and wellness, airport shuttle, non-funded accounts/banking services, SA tech service and graduate test-prep services.

Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics
The fundamental aim of the Bachelor of Science (BS) in Applied Mathematics Degree is to provide students with a broad foundation in mathematics and the mathematical reasoning needed to pursue an interest in a specific field of intellectually activity outside of mathematics. The BS in Applied Mathematics gives students the tools to combine mathematics with another quantitatively rich subject area that is directly concerned with applications, such as the sciences, economics, or engineering. The BS in Applied Mathematics is recommended for those students who intend to pursue a career in a field that requires advanced mathematical training, often beyond an undergraduate degree. Such students are likely to continue their mathematical studies in a Phd or Master's program. The degree requires from 51 to 52 credit hours of course work.

On-campus employment usually enables students to stay on campus rather than having to commute to work. If a student lives on campus, this is helpful because work and classes are all in one location. This saves time and money on transportation while also helping with tuition.
