This program has a coursework component that is comparable to a graduate diploma in Information Technology that focuses on Software Engineering and Enterprise Systems Technology. Additionally, the course work provides an exploration of required research skills and methodology training to undertake a career in research.

This program also requires students to undertake an individual academic research project that is equivalent in size and depth to an Australian Honours thesis. This project will be carried out by working with a research supervisor. This project will contribute new knowledge to the chosen field.
