The Master of Accounting (MAcc) program is a specialist program for people interested in pursuing a professional accounting qualification. This course incorporates the traditional Master of Accounting program and is designed to provide an opportunity for students with undergraduate training in other fields to gain a professional accounting qualification. The course covers introductory as well as advanced units in financial and management accounting, economics, finance, tax and business law, security appraisal and valuation and auditing. The MAcc offers a firm academic grounding in the accounting discipline and offers a hands-on appreciation of the accounting industry. The program is a powerful amalgam of foundational accounting skills, decision-making, leadership and financial literacy. The course is designed to help develop a student's ability to advise businesses on financial issues. The Master of Building Surveying offers students the chance to increase their knowledge in the field of building surveying. Completion of a further four postgraduate elective subjects will allow you to graduate with a Master of Building Surveying.

The Master of Construction Practice covers a comprehensive range of subjects in the field of construction practice, focusing on the management and delivery of complex construction projects. The curriculum addresses a range of topics including building structures and soil mechanics, construction technology, construction techniques, plant and equipment, contract administration, building measurement, finance and cost planning, project management, refurbishment and retrofitting and risks. The program is accredited by the Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (AIQS), the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). The program also meets the educational requirements of the Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC) for attainment of an Open Builders License. The ’Professional’ component of the degree involves an additional 20 weeks to the Master of Construction Practice program. This component enables students to develop their work ready skills to expand their analytic and strategic thinking capabilities through self analysis focused on work place outcomes and context. It also provides practical experience for students to appreciate the requirements of an industry workplace and develop their communication skills to improve their employability. Students will undertake either a Work Placement in Australia (210 hours) OR a complete Professional Program (210 hours) that offers students a mix of classroom learning and practical experiences incorporating skills sessions, industry guest involvement, projects and practical assessment pieces replicating workplace tasks.

At the end of the program, you will undertake a professional portfolio involving your research and practical expertise in your chosen vocational area.  Eligibility criteria apply to the professional placement option.  The program duration is 4 semesters and 20 weeks (92 weeks).

The Master of Criminology program gives you skill development and training as well as scholarly appreciation of crime, justice and forensic issues. The program provides an understanding of a broad range of issues involving criminology theories, contemporary information on crime prevention, the theory and practice of punishment, criminal offenders, the police, courts and correctional institutions, including current crime and deviance issues.
