In addition to the foundation Marketing major, you may choose another specialty major or minor as an elective from one of ten Communication areas: Advertising, Communication and Society, Corporate Storytelling, Creative Writing, Digital Media, Film and Television, Journalism, Media Studies, Social Media, and Public Relations. As part of your studies, you may produce marketing strategies and advertising and public relations campaigns for real clients as well as blogs, podcasts, published media stories, and websites. You will also gain sound insight into human society in various contexts including gender, interpersonal, and intercultural communication. The Bachelor of Film and Television is a heavily hands-on and project-based degree that allows you to balance practical filmmaking production experience with creative practice theory, enabling you to explore and develop your individual creativity and artistic voice. This comprehensive filmmaking program is focused on visual storytelling through the key creative areas of producing, screenwriting, directing, cinematography, editing, sound design, production design, and television broadcasting. You will be taught by staff with long professional careers in the film, television and screen-based industries, acquiring craft skills in modern production techniques using professional filmmaking equipment and technologies. You will develop strong visual aesthetics and storytelling capabilities and receive insight into the business and industrial aspects of the international film, television and screen-based industries. This three-year program is designed for international students who wish to study via a two-semester a year model, allowing them to complete the program over three year period.

The Master of Construction Practice covers a comprehensive range of subjects in the field of construction practice, focusing on the management and delivery of complex construction projects. The curriculum addresses a range of topics including building structures and soil mechanics, construction technology, construction techniques, plant and equipment, contract administration, building measurement, finance and cost planning, project management, refurbishment and retrofitting and risks. The program is accredited by the Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (AIQS), the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). The program also meets the educational requirements of the Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC) for attainment of an Open Builders License. The ’Professional’ component of the degree involves an additional 20 weeks to the Master of Construction Practice program. This component enables students to develop their work ready skills to expand their analytic and strategic thinking capabilities through self analysis focused on work place outcomes and context. It also provides practical experience for students to appreciate the requirements of an industry workplace and develop their communication skills to improve their employability. Students will undertake either a Work Placement in Australia (210 hours) OR a complete Professional Program (210 hours) that offers students a mix of classroom learning and practical experiences incorporating skills sessions, industry guest involvement, projects and practical assessment pieces replicating workplace tasks.

The Master of Arts in TESOL develops knowledge and skills necessary for teaching English as a Second or Additional Language and for working in diverse classrooms in varied educational contexts, in Australia and internationally. The program is designed to provide prospective teachers with expert knowledge and skills for the initial experience of language teaching. The program also can provide experienced educators with an opportunity to extend their qualifications and gain advanced professional development.  

The Master of Arts in TESOL involves the completion of twelve (12) subjects which develop expert theoretical knowledge of second language teaching and learning, and provide opportunities for teacher trainees to apply these theories in a language classroom. Students engage in synchronous and asynchronous online/multimodal sessions. These sessions explore principles of teaching and learning English as a second/additional language or dialect and link theories with their classroom applications. Students develop a personalised philosophy and practical approach to classroom teaching. The program examines many areas of language teacher education such as how languages work and function in a society and how they are learnt. Students also learn how to be effective teachers in traditional and online classrooms, how to design language assessment and language programs.   The Practicum of approximately 30-hours, enables students to learn from and observe other language teachers in action, and teach for a minimum of 6 hours under their supervision. Pending their performance in the program, we can assist students located on the Gold Coast in completing the Practicum at Bond University College, an English Language Centre on the Bond University campus.

If students are unable to complete their Practicum at Bond University College, it is their responsibility to secure the placement in another ELT centre. Depending on prior qualifications and individual arrangements, students may organise their Practicum in schools (if they are registered teachers) or in other ELT Centres. Many teachers complete the Practicum at the place of their current employment.   Students work with a lecturer and peers in weekly interactive and collaborative sessions which provide a unique opportunity for becoming part of a dynamic learning community. Students also engage in self-paced learning through pre-recorded and post-recorded resources and gamified learning activities.   Students can commence their studies in the Master of Arts in TESOL in the January, May or September semester. All domestic students students can study either part-time or full-time. International students who study in Australia must enrol in the full-time study option. It is estimated that students need to spend approximately 10 hours per week of study per subject, in order to successfully complete it. Students who are in employment are, therefore, advised to undertake their studies part-time, particularly in their first semester.

The Bachelor of Business Data Analytics program is focused on using data analytics techniques to improve business decision making.  It is a quantitative program, combining elements of statistics, computing, big data and machine learning. The Bachelor of Business Data Analytics is taught via smaller classes for personalised attention and unparalleled access to facilities like the Bond University Business School’s Big Data Centre. The program develops students’ skills in the development and understanding of analytics and analytic techniques and focuses on how these techniques can be used to solve real-world business problems and better inform evidence-based decision making. The combined Masters degree in International Relations and Project Management enables students interested in a career in diplomacy, international trade, government and business to acquire expertise in the planning, implementation and management of projects and programs. The addition of project and program management skills enables you to access more strategic positions in your organisation and to be responsible for overseeing new initiatives involving the management of scope, time, cost and risk. You will graduate with a Master of International Relations and a Master of Project Management upon completion. The combined program is internationally recognised by the Project Management Institute (PMI).

The Master of International Hotel and Tourism Management program is designed for students seeking senior management roles, or wanting to own and operate their own business, within the hotel and tourism industries. Students will complete a program of core business and advanced hotel and tourism management subjects.
