CQUniversity's Bachelor of Business is an innovative course that builds foundation business and management skills and prepares you for the future world of work. The course allows you to build your knowledge, skills, and practice in your chosen profession or discipline through authentic learning experiences that develop engaged globally-aware citizens able to contribute to communities and industry. The course is designed for students who are planning a career in business and management in diverse organisations.

There are eight compulsory core units and a choice of one of four business discipline majors. You can then choose a second major or two minors from the business discipline providing you meet the pre-requisite requirements. This provides you with the unique opportunity to develop a breadth of knowledge to meet and adapt to the changing nature of careers and work. In addition, you may be eligible to study a masters level minor in a cognate discipline to develop a depth of knowledge that will make you uniquely attractive to employers.

If you're an established or aspiring information technology (IT) professional the Master of Information Technology will expand your professional knowledge and skills in information technology (IT). Accredited by the Australian Computer Society, you will benefit from a highly practical course that meets international standards of ICT allowing you to develop your career globally.

During the course, you will study a common first term made up of four units covering project management, introductory programming, ICT services management and information systems analysis and design. Following completion of your first four units, you will begin studying in your chosen major: networks and information security; mobile application development; and software design and development. Emergency management has been designed to provide foundation knowledge in emergency and disaster management, disaster risk reduction and building community resilience to hazards and disasters. You will study topics that reflect the emerging trends in this growing profession and content that adopts concepts of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG's) and the approach of the prevention, preparedness, response and recovery (PRRR) model.

The forensic analysis major is ideal if you want to advance your data and analytical skills to support your managerial decision-making. You will become familiar with financial data analytics, including the tools, software and methodologies of business intelligence and learn skills in generating dashboards for performance reporting. This major includes topics in accounting systems and information assurance, as well as forensic accounting and minimising the risk of fraud in organisations.

This course provides an opportunity for you to extend your knowledge through coursework into project management and/or develop a research career in your relevant profession. This course focuses on both the hard technical and soft human aspects of project management. All the course materials have been aligned to the Project Management Institute (PMI) global standards and core bodies of knowledge. In the final year of the course, you can choose one of three streams; a research stream, a practicum stream, or an internship stream.

If you opt for the research stream your project can be based on either your workplace or issues that are important to your profession. The research stream will also allow you to meet the eligibility criteria to enrol in a Ph.D. program should you have a plan for an academic career as it suffices the threshold ratio of the research components in the Masters Course. The practicum is student-led and you will develop a project within a simulated company environment. Alternatively, you can opt for an internship, and if you are eligible, you will be placed at a host organisation to further develop your skills and competencies and obtain authentic experience in project management. While undertaking the qualification you will be well prepared to contribute to future growth and change in the projects you are involved in whilst at the same time enhancing your individual career advancement opportunities.

The Associate Degree of Digital Media can prepare you for paraprofessional work within the media and communications industry by providing practical skills and relevant theory that can be applied in a variety of fields associated with design, technology and media.

The course's flexible structure allows you to focus on your individual strengths and interests by pursuing specialisations in Graphic Design, Interactive Media, Screen Production, Animation, or a combination of these areas.

Working within multimedia computer laboratories and production studios, you will learn how to create digital media works using industry-standard software tools and techniques. You will learn how to think critically, solve problems, communicate effectively, and work independently and collaboratively in response to digital media project demands.

Please note, internships cannot be taken at your current employer. Alternatively, the capstone stream provides the opportunity to apply your knowledge to an industry-relevant project. Projects in the capstone stream may be taken with your employer, provided other students can also participate in the same project.
