The Master of Engineering allows you the opportunity to develop professional skills such as teamwork and communication while applying and further developing the theoretical knowledge you gained in your undergraduate study. If you are a practicing engineer, this is a versatile course that allows you to extend or expand your engineering practice.  

This course begins with an introduction to Australian engineering practice, providing the opportunity to apply discipline knowledge and skills in an authentic project, in some cases with an industry mentor, and will help to prepare you for engineering practice. You will then complete an internship of a minimum of 300 hours to gain work experience required to meet the accreditation requirements of the course. If you have significant and recent engineering experience (at least 480 hours) you may opt out of this unit and choose an elective unit as an alternative.

Depending on your choice of elective units, you will study one or two units from topics including sustainability, mining, project management and rail providing the opportunity to contextualise your learning to your current or preferred industry. Finally, you will complete a major research project that will demonstrate your ability to work as a professional engineer.

By studying the Graduate Diploma in Project Management you will undertake coursework that explores the principles of project management as based on recognised international standards, guidelines and frameworks. Examples of different project domains are explored through case studies.

Each case study will enable you to explore the application of project management closely aligned to your chosen career path. The units develop technical skills in the initiation, bidding, tendering, planning, design, procurement, execution, reporting, commissioning, hand over, and post-project support of projects. Human skills in stakeholder management, communication, team building, negotiation, and the support of ongoing professional career development are integrated into the coursework material and assessments.

The eight industry relevant electives strengthen the relevance of your study to the world of hospitality work. The course provides you with knowledge and skills to work effectively in the hospitality and tourism industry.  The Bachelor of Hospitality Management is designed for students who have completed an Advanced Diploma or a Diploma from a recognised institution. The course provides you with a direct pathway based on prior completion of a vocational or higher education qualification in hospitality management. The vocational pathway provides you with a strong foundation to complete the course in one and a half or two years depending on your entry pathway.

This course will provide you with the underpinning knowledge and skills in information technology (IT), and can also provide an entry pathway into the Bachelor of Information Technology.

In this innovative course, the origins and evolution of public health and the underlying principles of community-based and community-led public health will be explored. The social-ecological model of health forms the basis of the Graduate Diploma in Public Health and you will be introduced to complex adaptive systems thinking and how this influences the way we think about public health.

This approach reflects contemporary trends in public health and provides the basis of innovative interventions for social change. You will undertake units that outline the origins and evolution of public health and the underlying principles of community-based and community-led public health.
