The aim of this course is to give you a comprehensive overview of the scientific discipline of psychology and its applications. The course is delivered in accordance with the foundational (level one) competencies for three-year undergraduate psychology programs as specified by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC). You will acquire an understanding of the underlying principles, theories and concepts within the discipline. In addition, you will develop knowledge of the range of core research areas that make up the discipline, and an understanding of the methodologies and statistical techniques used by researchers for information gathering and analysis. There will be opportunities for you to explore applied and professional uses of psychology. In addition, you will be introduced to psychological theory, research, and applied and professional uses of psychology in an ethical and culturally responsive context.

Upon completion of this course, you will have a highly marketable quali?cation. This course is universally acknowledged as an indication of competence and achievement in understanding human thought and behaviour that can be applied in a variety of people-oriented vocations. Graduating with this qualification, however, will not allow you to call yourself a 'psychologist'. This requires further study involving an Honours course (4th year of study) and then an accredited Psychology Board of Australia pathway.

The Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Sciences will equip you with practical skills in the various disciplines relevant to exercise and sport sciences such as anatomy and physiology, nutrition, exercise physiology, biomechanics, exercise and sport psychology, motor control and learning, and exercise prescription and delivery.

If you're an established or aspiring information technology (IT) professional the Master of Information Technology will expand your professional knowledge and skills in information technology (IT). During the course, you will study a common first term made up of four units covering project management, introductory programming, ICT services management and information systems analysis and design. This qualification reflects the role of highly skilled senior operators who use a broad range of hospitality skills combined with managerial skills and sound knowledge of industry to coordinate hospitality operations. They operate independently, have responsibility for others and make a range of operational business decisions. This qualification allows for multiskilling and for specialisation in accommodation services, cookery, food and beverage and gaming.

The Cookery, Restaurant and Bar Specialisation will give you skills and knowledge in Cookery and Restaurant service. As the course progresses you will develop a broad range of hospitality skills combined with managerial skills and industry knowledge and develop essential skills to manage and operate a hospitality establishment. These skills will make a well-rounded and multi-skilled employee because of your understanding of numerous roles across the hospitality sector.

The Restaurant and Bar Specialisation will give you the edge on how to succeed in hospitality management, designed to improve your ability to lead and manage people. This specialisation is an opportunity to progress through the ranks by gaining greater levels of knowledge and experience in supervisory roles. While completing the Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (Honours), you will build technical and evaluative skills to assess and implement recommendations for best practice in patient testing, monitoring and education.

You will also develop an advanced level of communication skill to ensure positive interactions with both patients and other health professionals.

Clinical decision-making and problem-solving abilities are key skills for the medical laboratory scientist.

Occupational therapy is a dynamic person-centred health profession. Practitioners support people of all ages, and their families, to engage in the occupations and activities of daily life, to optimise physical and mental health and wellbeing. Occupational therapists must be registered to practice in Australia, and may work in a range of government, educational, and industry settings, as well as in private enterprise, throughout the world.

The aim of our accredited Occupational Therapy Course is to develop highly competent and autonomous occupational therapy graduates, skilled in inter-professional and person-/family-centred occupational therapy practice. To achieve this, the course is informed by contemporary research and occupational therapy theories and models. It is taught by occupational therapists and other suitably qualified professionals who are skilled and experienced in the diverse areas of occupational therapy practice. Speech pathology is an exciting career that will enable you the opportunity to work with people across the lifespan. Completing the Bachelor of Speech Pathology (Honours) at CQUniversity will equip you with valuable skills to enable you to work with people of all ages who have communication or swallowing difficulties. On completion of this course, you will be qualified as an entry-level speech pathologist, ready to work with children and/or adults with a diverse range of communication and swallowing difficulties, in a variety of contexts. As part of your final year of study, you will be required to complete a research project on a topic relevant to speech pathology.
