Project Management
Project management is a growing, dynamic profession that involves planning, coordinating, costing and evaluating projects of all sizes, as well as managing the people and risks involved. In a globalised economy project management is central to develop and deliver new products, services and infrastructure as well as implement new techniques and processes to facilitate change. Project management studies at Deakin are based on key project management methodologies to provide a holistic viewpoint with the aim to deliver generic project management skills that can be applied across most sectors and industries.

The Master of Health Promotion gives you the skills and platform to create healthy social and ecological environments for whole populations. Indonesian
As the world’s fourth most populous nation and a close neighbouring country, Indonesia is vitally important to Australia. By studying Indonesian language, students gain a range of communication skills and an understanding of Indonesian history, culture and society. Modelled on commercial laboratories, our food preparation, food analysis and two sensory laboratories give students hands-on real-world laboratory experience preparing you for the workplace.

Gain at least 75 hours of workplace training through industry placement. Public relations practitioners are 21st century communication specialists who manage and coordinate relationships between organisations, agencies and the public. With a focus on ethical and sustainable communication practices, the course builds key knowledge and skills in core public relations responsibilities such as: event management and campaigns; social media tactics and media relations; strategic planning, management and communication; and the allied field of marketing communication. Final-year students have the opportunity to develop their skills further by undertaking an industry internship, working with real clients to develop a public relations campaign. Sociology

Sociology is the academic study of society. We explore social change and how social structures, social institutions and culture shape the lives of individuals and communities. Deakin Sociology engages with contemporary issues in the global and Australian landscape such as how society shapes (and is shaped by) illness and health policies, gender and sexuality, religion and new forms of spirituality, migration and inequality, violence and social control. Deakin sociologists are active social researchers with expertise in a variety of methodologies including digital and traditional ethnographies, visual methods, in-depth interviews, focus groups, survey research, experimental design in sociological research, and our graduates learn to apply these skills to the study of social life.
