The Diploma of Screen and Media (Content Creation) provides you with skills-based training in a practical, hands-on environment. You will start your journey in the diploma and, upon successful completion, continue into the advanced diploma. 

You will develop skills and knowledge in key areas such as concept development, storytelling and all aspects of production. You will learn the importance of industry knowledge, collaboration, team building and professionalism.

On completion of the first year, you will transition to the Advanced Diploma of Screen and Media (Directing), which gives you the broad base necessary to move ahead in the screen, media, TV and film production industries. 

Graduates from this diploma will have the skills necessary to work in a variety of screen and media-based roles, ranging from cinematographers to scriptwriters.

Build upon your foundation of scientific knowledge and develop a deeper knowledge of scientific principles.

In this course, you will gain stronger practical skills and more hands-on laboratory experience.

As a laboratory technician, you’ll be able to conduct tests for pathologists, biochemists, clinical chemists, pharmacologists, veterinarians, microbiologists and bacteriologists. You’ll also be able to apply your knowledge of living systems to work toward solving important issues, such as controlling disease and making the environment safer.

You will provide technical support to scientists working in research, production and testing roles. Under supervision, you’ll get to examine changes in cells and tissues, perform chemical analyses of blood and other body fluids, and assist with research.
With this qualification, you’ll be able to work in hospitals, research institutes, pharmaceutical companies, private pathology laboratories, commercial laboratories and government departments.

As a computer science masters by research candidate, you have the flexibility to pursue an individual topic, or contribute to one of our existing research areas.

The new interdisciplinary field of data science combines areas of computer science with mathematical statistics and domain expertise to manage and analyse data. The Associate Degree in Engineering has been designed to equip you with a broad theoretical and technical knowledge of the underlying principles of engineering.

Offering six majors, you will get to choose to focus on mechanical, aerospace, advanced manufacturing and mechatronics, electrical and electronics, computer and network, or civil engineering. The Bachelor of Communication (Advertising) has three distinct focuses: art direction, copywriting, and strategy planning/account management. There is a strong focus on critical and conceptual thinking. You will learn how to use these skills to solve marketing problems, generate attention for brands and products and build an emotional bond between a brand and consumers.

This degree offers you a creative advertising degree that combines theoretical and industry knowledge with hands-on professional skills including copywriting, art direction and strategy planning. It provides an overview of the role and value of advertising within broader marketing and communication practice, as well as in depth study of advertising media, strategic and creative disciplines. You will experience a variety of interactive learning and teaching approaches, both face to face and online, with a strong emphasis on industry relevance and creative outcomes.

Our graduates go on to work both locally and internationally in a variety of roles, from art direction and copy writing, to media planning and client management.

Designed to build on your existing knowledge, the Diploma of Business is tailored to ensure relevance to contemporary work environments.

It will cover personal and team effectiveness, communication with customers, business continuity for sustainability and risk, and business success through planning.

RMIT's Bachelor of Applied Science (Aviation) focuses on the operational, managerial and planning aspects of airlines, airports, and associated industries.

You will gain a comprehensive appreciation of the aviation operating environment, and develop leadership, business, analytical and problem solving skills, enabling you to solve real problems in the aviation workplace. 

Developed with input from key stakeholders in the aviation industry, you will learn from aviation experts and benefit from RMIT's long standing relationships and extensive expertise in aviation education and research.

You will be able to tailor your aviation studies to suit your interests and career goals. Study airline and airport operations, aviation management, aircraft maintenance, human factors, aviation safety and security, and business analytics.

A capstone experience will provide you with hands-on, industry experience so you will graduate job-ready. The aviation industry project will provides you with the opportunity to apply your industry knowledge and undertake a project focusing on a real-world aviation industry problem or issue.

This certificate is focused on students gaining highly practical photographic skills with a strong emphasis on collaboration, professionalism and hands-on industry knowledge.

You will initially study all areas of photography in the Certificate IV and upon successful completion, advance to areas of specialisation in the Diploma of Photography and Digital Imaging.

The one-year Certificate IV is designed to reflect the role of individuals working as photographers' assistants. You will learn to apply a broad range of skills in lighting, image capture, enhancements, manipulation and print output.

Upon successful completion, you are encouraged to apply and advance into areas of specialisation in the Diploma of Photography and Digital Imaging. This is also a one-year qualification, where you’ll produce highly professional folios of work both on location and in studio and gain technical skills to plan, carry out and evaluate photo imaging services.

At RMIT we contend that research is conducted through designing and that the process of designing, as a means of increasing knowledge, parallels research in other areas in fascinating ways.

Research candidates are supported and engaged in communities of design practice where learning is fundamentally a social phenomenon; where knowledge is integrated in the life of these communities that share interests, discourses and ways of doing things.

The Master of Design may be undertaken in a project or thesis mode. This decision is made in consultation with your supervisor.

On completion of this program you will have:
