In RMIT's Bachelor of Engineering (Biomedical Engineering) (Honours), you will develop the knowledge and skills you need to undertake a career that helps people affected by health conditions and the health professionals who support them.

Completing studies in biomechanics, medical electronics, mathematics, and engineering science, you will be well trained to work in the in the vibrant and expanding medical technology and biotechnology industries, producing assistive technologies, medical devices for rehabilitation applications, lab-on-a-chip diagnostics and biomaterials.

You will have access to world-leading researchers and 3D-printing facilities such as the Advanced Manufacturing Precinct, the Micro Nano Research facility and the 3DBioFab, placing you at the interface of cutting-edge technologies and advances in biomedical science and engineering.

From basic production skills to sophisticated cross-media projects and strategic thinking about media industries, this two-year degree offers a variety of entry points depending on your previous qualifications and experience.

In the first year, you will be introduced to video, audio and internet media production. In the second year, you will explore complex cross-media projects and develop the sophisticated strategic and leadership skills required to be at the forefront of this evolving industry.

You will gain practical industry experience and learn about strategic planning through hands-on projects. This program has a global focus and there will be an opportunity to undertake various research projects with an international context.

Field education forms a large component of the social work course. You'll undertake 140 days of work placements within human and community service organisations.

Research candidates are supported and engaged in communities of design practice where learning is fundamentally a social phenomenon; where knowledge is integrated in the life of these communities that share interests, discourses and ways of doing things.

The Master of Design may be undertaken in a project or thesis mode. This decision is made in consultation with your supervisor.

On completion of this program you will have:

• Technical and communication skills to design, evaluate, implement, analyse, theorise and disseminate research that makes a contribution to knowledge and/or professional practice.

Develop a nuanced understanding of, and undertake research in writing and publishing culture in both an Australian and a global context with the Master of Writing and Publishing.

The Bowen Street Press operates as a real-world, student-led publishing house, which offers many opportunities for industry engagement and real-world and simulated work practice. The numbers speak for themselves: interns have rated this degree with 100% for overall satisfaction, generic skills and graduate qualities over the last 2 years, as well as over 90% ratings for learner engagement, skills development, teaching quality and overall quality of education.

This degree is designed as a series of connected studios in which you take on specific industry challenges through collaborative and interdisciplinary learning and teaching strategies. Publications in both group and individual scenarios from print through to digital are the focus of the Bowen Street Press. A combination of industry-led research and individual projects in the second year of the degree will ensure a high level of flexibility for students.

Lecturers and academics all have strong industry relationships and experience, and the learning environment simulates professional practice within the writing, editing and publishing industries. The studios comprise an internship day, weekend intensives, weekly face-to-face seminars and student-directed learning.

This Qualification has been superseded by the Department of Education, Skills and Employment and will change in 2023.

You can still apply for this program and you will be supported to transfer into the new qualification once it becomes available. This may result in changes to the program structure, content and fees.

n the Master of Animation, Games and Interactivity, our students work alongside ACMI X, exhibit their work at the Melbourne International Animation Festival, and have opportunities to collaborate with academic staff, industry practitioners, and RMIT research centres.

You will develop your directorial vision as you learn concepts and techniques of narrative, visual, and interactive media in a studio setting.

This degree builds on more than 20 years of RMIT’s success in postgraduate teaching and research, focusing on the advanced theoretical and practical aspects of professional production in animation, games, and interactive media.

As you acquire skills in these areas, you will develop a directorial vision and in-depth understanding of narrative, visual, and interactive media through studio projects and collaborations that focus on current global trends.
