RMIT's Bachelor of Engineering (Civil and Infrastructure) (Honours) / Bachelor of Business double degree will give you a competitive advantage, allowing you to advance into positions of responsibility and influence.

During this five-year engineering and business degree, you will develop the capability to play a pivotal role in planning, implementing and managing civil and infrastructure projects and developments in a wide range of industries, government and non-government organisations.

The industry-accredited degree in civil and infrastructure engineering is at the forefront of engineering education and meets Australian and global industry demands. Civil engineering sub-disciplines include construction management, and structural, transport, water and geotechnical engineering.

The degree in business focuses on the roles and functions of business management. To advance your career as a business leader, you have the opportunity to customise your degree to suit your interests and career goals. There are 13 majors and over 30 minors to choose from.

In the Master of Artificial Intelligence, you’ll learn to design and implement systems and applications in high-tech facilities, such as our newly developed Artificial Intelligence Lab.

The Master of Artificial Intelligence offers two stream options. In the project stream, you complete an AI postgraduate project and choose two electives from both AI and IT. In the research stream, you complete a research methods module, write a minor thesis, and select two electives.

We have been rated above world standard for our research in the field of AI and Image Processing. This course is among the most specialised in the country, with few other degrees focused on AI theory and applications in today’s climate. Sustainable systems engineering brings together the new technologies and innovative engineering approaches needed for sustainable global development.

In RMIT's Bachelor of Engineering (Sustainable Systems Engineering) (Honours), you'll learn how to protect, restore and create engineered and natural systems that are socially, environmentally, and economically sustainable.

As part of this systems engineering degree you’ll undertake a broad range of studies, graduating with the skills to design engineering solutions that meet the needs of society within economic and ecological constraints.

Your studies will focus on developing a sustainable systems approach, combining the fundamentals of sustainable systems design, engineering design, engineering mathematics and engineering science. Degree specialisations exist in renewable energy systems, energy efficiency and demand management, transport and logistics, and supply chain analytics.

You'll learn how to use communication media to support translating and interpreting work, and gain insight into the intersection of theory and practice. 

Combining studies in urban planning and built environment with the social, economic, and political environment, the Master of Urban Planning and Environment equips you to shape efficient, practical, healthy, and sustainable cities.

Develop skills in critical analysis and draw from diverse sources to engage in professionally-relevant projects, conduct research, and promote effective policy outcomes. Benefit from practical and experiential learning, working on urban planning problems in the field, and consulting with industry.

Upon graduation, you will be eligible for membership of the Planning Institute of Australia.

This degree is offered online and face-to face. It is primarily taught through evening classes during the week, with some topics delivered through intensive full-day workshops. All core topics and some electives are also offered online in case students aren’t able to study face-to-face.

The Bachelor of Communication (Professional Communication) is designed to equip you with the principles of effective communication that apply across the media and communications industries and that make you competitive for a rapidly changing workforce.

Today’s media professionals must be all-rounders, carrying out tasks across a range of digital and traditional media platforms. This degree equips you with the interdisciplinary skills and knowledge that you need to become this all-rounder.

In the first part of the degree, you’ll work and learn with students from other media and communication disciplines. You’ll then be given the opportunity to specialise in a discipline of interest: journalism, media production, advertising, public relations.

In your third year, you will undertake a professional placement that relates to your specialisation. These opportunities range from: government departments, media or advertising agencies, community TV, radio stations or consultancies that RMIT has existing relationships with, or in an approved placement of your own choosing.
