Your science degree begins with a suite of introductory subjects in which you will learn and explore core science concepts across physical, life, data and mathematical science disciplines and develop and strengthen key scientific and transferable skills, providing a transformative learning experience that will underpin your future studies and careers.

You can then choose your areas in which to specialise from a suite of complementary majors and minors across the breadth of sciences, including:

These majors can be complemented by an extensive choice of generalist minors within these and additional areas, offering further flexibility or the opportunity for further specialisation.

• Research experience is required for most academic and research positions, and increasingly for positions in other sectors.

In consultation with your discipline honours coordinator and your supervisor, you'll be allocated a project to develop your skills to an advanced level.

This research degree develops advanced research principles, methods and mastery of a body of knowledge in the social sciences by completing a thesis or research project.

Your challenge will be not just to generate new knowledge but also to investigate how this knowledge can inform action.
Individually supervised research programs are available in three key areas: the social, the urban and the global.

Whether you are pursuing a career in the arts management field, or you are already working in it, your studies in the Master of Arts (Arts Management) will help you gain capabilities that broaden your professional opportunities as an artist or manager.

From managing festivals, events and museums to working as an advisor in the community, education and government sector, you'll emerge from this degree as a highly skilled, reflective and ethical practitioner committed to making a contribution to arts management and the community.

Learning from industry practitioners and professional educators, you'll recognise, develop and extend your professional knowledge, skills, attitudes and values within a flexible learning framework. Upon completion of this degree, you will be aware of the changing nature of this industry, and be able to work within various context of this environment.

The Master of Statistics and Operations Research will develop your knowledge of statistical and operations research methodologies.

You’ll combine a theoretical foundation with practical applications of current techniques employed by practising engineers, scientists and other professionals in industry, research, consulting, teaching and business.
This is achieved using statistical software accompanied by an in-depth understanding of the statistical processes involved.

You will be particularly knowledgeable, creative and critical in the sense of how you interpret and analyse data. You will also be equipped with the ability to apply knowledge to solve a wide range of real-world problems.

You’ll be exposed to a wide variety of analytics tools including R, SQL, SAS Enterprise Guide, SAS Enterprise Miner, Python, Java, CPLEX, Gurobi and Arena.

The program includes an industry project component and/or minor thesis which will develop your consulting and research skills.

Based on your previous studies you may be eligible for exemptions that may shorten your program duration by up to one year full-time.

RMIT's geospatial sciences team is the largest academic group of its kind in Australia.

You will be expertly supervised as you develop your analytical and problem-solving skills through further investigation into one of our key areas:

• Cartography and visualisation
• Geodesy
• GIS and geoinformatics
• Remote sensing and photogrammetry
• Satellite positioning
• Surveying

This master degree may be undertaken in a project or thesis mode.

With RMIT's Bachelor of Engineering (Aerospace Engineering) (Honours), you'll design aircraft and spacecraft, develop propulsion systems, research new materials, test new engines, develop rockets and plan maintenance subjects.

In this internationally recognised degree you'll gain specialist skills in analysing, designing, and operating sophisticated aeronautics and astronautics hardware and software.

You'll study a broad range of areas such as aerodynamics, aerospace materials and structures, aerospace systems, design, dynamics and control, thermodynamics, and propulsion.

Minor options in Aircraft and Spacecraft Technologies will allow you to tailor the degree to suit your areas of interest and enhance your career opportunities.

Sustainability issues are built into multiple areas of the aerospace engineering degree. This increases your employability as there is increasing demand for long-term engineering solutions in this industry. You'll also learn to appreciate the wider social implications of the engineering profession.

You'll have the opportunity to apply your learning in the real world through capstone projects, industry placements, and participation in the Engineers Without Borders Challenge.

The Master of Interior Design will provide you with an opportunity to position yourself in relation to current interior design practice through collaboration with clients, industry and a network of peers.

With an emphasis on ideas and a design-led approach to research and experimentation, the knowledge and skills you develop in this course will enable you to work in a range of practices, and to engage interior design as an agent of social and cultural change.

Graduates of this course will be highly effective team contributors with strong communication and technical skills. You will learn how to be a valuable contributor through the process of developing a collective response to real industry briefs. You will engage with clients (encompassing commercial, institutional, civic and social organisations) and industry practice partners (interior design and associated design practices) together with the student cohort on live projects and challenges.

With a strong focus on design challenges affecting the broader Australasian region, you will also have opportunities to undertake global intensives to locations within Asia.

The RMIT Master of Teaching Practice (Secondary Education) is a degree designed for graduates from any discipline who wish to teach in secondary schools.
