This degree is designed as a series of connected studios in which you take on specific industry challenges through collaborative and interdisciplinary learning and teaching strategies. Publications in both group and individual scenarios from print through to digital are the focus of the Bowen Street Press. A combination of industry-led research and individual projects in the second year of the degree will ensure a high level of flexibility for students.

Lecturers and academics all have strong industry relationships and experience, and the learning environment simulates professional practice within the writing, editing and publishing industries. The studios comprise an internship day, weekend intensives, weekly face-to-face seminars and student-directed learning.

Aircraft maintenance engineers work on aircraft engines, airframes, airframe systems, electrics, instruments, radio systems, and aircraft sheet metal work.

With the Master of Communication Design you will develop expertise in communication design practice, and focus on design entrepreneurship and strategic design thinking.

Develop expert knowledge and specialised technical and creative skills to prepare for professional roles in multidisciplinary environments, including communication design studios, digital design consultancies, advertising agencies, design teams within other organisations, and in independent practices. Whether you’re working on a home, office, hotel, commercial environment or something unique, this course is designed to give you the creative skills you need to build a career in the field of interior design.

In this dynamic, practical, industry-relevant course, you'll learn 2D and 3D design skills and the decorative aspect of design. You’ll delve into the exploration of colour, materials and finishes, interior construction techniques, soft furnishings, and fabrics and furniture. With research and practical tasks across historical and contemporary styles and trends, you’ll develop high-level documentation and technical skills in order to respond to professional briefs for both residential and commercial clients.

You'll develop a deeper understanding of commercial and residential interiors, spatial layout, furnishings and decorative treatments, and the documentation process.

As an interior designer, you will:

• Develop well-planned and functional spaces
• Decorate residential and commercial environments
• Draw sketches and produce samples of your design ideas
• Source paint colours, lighting, furniture and flooring
• Provide advice on soft and hard finishes, artwork, and accessories for an interior scheme.
• Provide on-site design and construction advice.

Through this course, your knowledge and skills will expand to allow you to create and communicate your design concepts, evaluate briefs and apply basic business skills to domestic and commercial projects.

The Master of Statistics and Operations Research will develop your knowledge of statistical and operations research methodologies.

You’ll combine a theoretical foundation with practical applications of current techniques employed by practising engineers, scientists and other professionals in industry, research, consulting, teaching and business.
This is achieved using statistical software accompanied by an in-depth understanding of the statistical processes involved.

You will be particularly knowledgeable, creative and critical in the sense of how you interpret and analyse data. You will also be equipped with the ability to apply knowledge to solve a wide range of real-world problems.

You’ll be exposed to a wide variety of analytics tools including R, SQL, SAS Enterprise Guide, SAS Enterprise Miner, Python, Java, CPLEX, Gurobi and Arena.

The program includes an industry project component and/or minor thesis which will develop your consulting and research skills.

Based on your previous studies you may be eligible for exemptions that may shorten your program duration by up to one year full-time.

With a focus on all aspects of screen and media production — not just standing behind the camera — one of the key features of this diploma is that in each semester you will write, produce, direct and edit screen content. This will help you to develop a strong skill set on work or further study upon graduation.

The Diploma of Screen and Media (Content Creation) provides you with skills-based training in a practical, hands-on environment. You will start your journey in the diploma and, upon successful completion, continue into the advanced diploma. 

You will develop skills and knowledge in key areas such as concept development, storytelling and all aspects of production. You will learn the importance of industry knowledge, collaboration, team building and professionalism.

On completion of the first year, you will transition to the Advanced Diploma of Screen and Media (Directing), which gives you the broad base necessary to move ahead in the screen, media, TV and film production industries. 

Graduates from this diploma will have the skills necessary to work in a variety of screen and media-based roles, ranging from cinematographers to scriptwriters.
