The Advanced Diploma of Screen and Media (Content Creation and Design) is delivered as part of a sequence, beginning with the Diploma of Screen and Media (Animation, Gaming and Visual Effects).

Upon satisfactory completion of the diploma you will be eligible to progress to the advanced diploma.

This advanced diploma gives you the broad base necessary to move ahead in the art, design, screen and media industries. Gain expertise in both the hardware and structure of computer systems, and the software used to control them.

In RMIT's Bachelor of Engineering (Computer and Network Engineering) (Honours) / Bachelor of Computer Science, you’ll acquire extensive knowledge of computer system architecture, software design and the necessary skills required for developing embedded hardware and network-based computer systems.

The computer science degree will develop a skill set that spans from theoretical and algorithmic foundations to cutting-edge developments in computing. You will gain deep knowledge of systems infrastructure, software methods and technologies, and application technologies.

The computer and network engineering degree will develop your skills in the field of embedded systems or smart devices, as well as provide you with expertise in large scale network design and the implementation of digital communication networks that are vital for many big businesses. 

This double degree will also allow you to focus your skills on a range of topics, covering the Internet of Things (loT), software engineering, artificial Intelligence, sensor networks, high-performance parallel processing, real-time embedded systems, signal processing, programming and software development.

Work integrated learning is embedded in the computer science and engineering degree, enabling you to gain practical experience and employability skills.

We have a multidisciplinary research base that offers opportunities to conduct biomedical research in a range of areas.
Under expert supervision, you will develop your skills and join researchers already active in:

This degree is designed as a series of connected studios in which you take on specific industry challenges through collaborative and interdisciplinary learning and teaching strategies. Publications in both group and individual scenarios from print through to digital are the focus of the Bowen Street Press. A combination of industry-led research and individual projects in the second year of the degree will ensure a high level of flexibility for students.

Lecturers and academics all have strong industry relationships and experience, and the learning environment simulates professional practice within the writing, editing and publishing industries. The studios comprise an internship day, weekend intensives, weekly face-to-face seminars and student-directed learning.

This Qualification has been superseded by the Department of Education, Skills and Employment and will change in 2023.

You can still apply for this program and you will be supported to transfer into the new qualification once it becomes available. This may result in changes to the program structure, content and fees.

In this advanced diploma course, you’ll gain the practical and technical skills to work with civil engineers on the design and construction of infrastructure projects.

The Advanced Diploma of Engineering (Civil Engineering Design) also provides a pathway to an engineering degree.

Civil and structural engineering involves the design and construction of roads, airports, railways, buildings, bridges, dams and drainage systems.

You’ll develop skills:

• Using computer-aided drafting (CAD) software to produce detailed drawings, plans and designs for construction work
• Doing cost estimates and preparing material specifications
• Liaising with construction workers and project managers
• Inspecting completed works to ensure they meet specifications and regulations
• Conducting laboratory and/or field testing of materials, soil and water quality.
