This certificate is focused on students gaining highly practical photographic skills with a strong emphasis on collaboration, professionalism and hands-on industry knowledge.

You will initially study all areas of photography in the Certificate IV and upon successful completion, advance to areas of specialisation in the Diploma of Photography and Digital Imaging.

The one-year Certificate IV is designed to reflect the role of individuals working as photographers' assistants. You will learn to apply a broad range of skills in lighting, image capture, enhancements, manipulation and print output.

Upon successful completion, you are encouraged to apply and advance into areas of specialisation in the Diploma of Photography and Digital Imaging. This is also a one-year qualification, where you’ll produce highly professional folios of work both on location and in studio and gain technical skills to plan, carry out and evaluate photo imaging services.

In the Master of Artificial Intelligence, you’ll learn to design and implement systems and applications in high-tech facilities, such as our newly developed Artificial Intelligence Lab.

The Master of Artificial Intelligence offers two stream options. In the project stream, you complete an AI postgraduate project and choose two electives from both AI and IT. In the research stream, you complete a research methods module, write a minor thesis, and select two electives.

We have been rated above world standard for our research in the field of AI and Image Processing. This course is among the most specialised in the country, with few other degrees focused on AI theory and applications in today’s climate. The Bachelor of Arts (Photography) (Honours) is designed for students who have successfully completed a three-year degree in photography, and who wish to undertake a further year of study to focus exclusively on an individual project.

The degree will also appeal to commercial photographers, photographers with commissioned practices (such as advertising, editorial or fashion photographers), photojournalists, socially-engaged practitioners, artists, designers, and other creative industry professionals seeking a more advanced studio practice in photography.
