Majors

Visual Communication Design
Explore many different forms of visual and graphic communication and branding, and understand the social contexts and environmental responsibilities of design. You'll learn to develop design solutions, which inform, persuade, provoke, or entertain your audience. You’ll focus on your passion, but also learn how to effectively present and communicate your ideas within this evolving industry.

Interior and Spatial Design
The interior and spatial design major prepares students for a professional career across a broad spectrum of interior and spatial fields, including residential, commercial, exhibition, installation, theatre and event design.

The major prepares students to focus on diverse spaces and societies that creatively imagines interiors and public urban spaces in every domain and on every scale, from private to public, local to global. With an emphasis on social and environmental justice, designing for sustainability, liveability, diversity and inclusion are core to theory and practice. Students acquire a broad foundation of technical skills across a range of architectural and digital design programs, as well as engaging in theoretical knowledge, design process skills and analysis and critical thought. In the studios, students work on real projects preparing them for all interior and spatial design aspects inherent in professional practice.

Product Design
Can’t wait to get your hands on a 3D printer? The equipment and technology you have the chance to use at Griffith is state-of-the art and this means there are very few limits to what you can create. Undertake a range of creative projects and put our technology to the test, using 3D printing, 3D modelling, 3D scanning, laser cutting and CNC routing equipment.

The Bachelor of Science Advanced (Honours) caters for students who have demonstrated outstanding potential in the field of science. This degree follows the Bachelor of Science degree, giving you the opportunity to engage in research early by taking one Advanced Studies course each trimester.

You'll undertake a major research project and be individually guided and mentored by one or more of our outstanding scientific researchers. In your final year, you'll complete an honours project in your chosen specialisation. This is the opportunity to hone your skills and demonstrate your research ability under the eyes of a leading science researcher. In this degree, you will learn the multifaceted practice of professional Industrial Design, from the blue-sky activities of idea-generation and invention to the rigorous knowledge of engineering science. You'll learn through making as you get hands-on with advanced technologies, including 3D printing and other methods of cutting-edge manufacturing through to traditional craft/hand-making technologies and techniques. You will be prepared for careers ranging from design for mass-production to small scale manufacture and everything in between. All courses are taught under the guidance of our industry experienced teaching staff, and everything is viewed through the lens of sustainability and best professional practice.

This degree sits within the discipline of Architecture, Design and Planning and many of the core courses sit within the discipline of Mechanical Engineering. This is a testament to the practical and interdisciplinary nature of your study. You'll be taught electronics, mechanics, thermofluids and more by engineering specialists, while also being taught design skills, digital modelling, 3D printing and programming by design professionals. The result is a comprehensive Industry Ready degree that sets you up to start your career equipped with the skills and knowledge you need.

Your degree also incorporates an international focus on digital and advanced technology manufacturing, giving you the chance to develop an understanding of how a product is created, from design to delivery, in a global context across a broad range of fields.

This Masters program covers essential areas of human resource management including strategy and HR, evidence-based HRM, organisational change, international and comparative HRM, recruitment and selection, and performance and reward management. You will gain a critical appreciation of the role and practice of human resource management in local and global business.

This program will further develop and deepen your understanding of key policy formulation, negotiation and implementation matters pertaining to the employment relationship in dynamic contexts. It encompasses workplace and institutional practices and strategies, employment law, negotiation and dispute resolution, managing equity and diversity, workplace health and safety, managing rewards and performance and employment relations strategy. It will deepen your understanding of the management of employment relations.

As factories and other engineering environments transform into an industrial Internet of Things, the ability to analyse vast quantities of data to extract relevant intelligence is an increasingly and highly sought-after skill.

Data science provides a broad knowledge of the exploration, gathering, manipulation, visualisation, automation and interpretation of data using digital platforms and can be applied to enable real-time performance optimisation.

This double degree will enable you to provide data-based insights based on your specific expertise in engineering, to improve decision-making, reduce costs and increase efficiencies.

In this double degree, you will learn about key sustainability issues, such as energy, water and waste management, and develop an appreciation of the interrelationships between environmental sustainability and business success. Throughout the degree, you will examine the sustainable use of our natural environment, and graduate with the skills and knowledge needed to find sustainable solutions for business and industry.

Environmental Science component:-
Depending on your chosen major in the environmental science component, you will study topics such as environmental economics and policy, climate change, water resources, biodiversity and species loss, land management and urban environments.

Business component:-
The business component offers a suite of majors and courses that emphasise how core functions of business and management, such as communication, planning, teamwork, strategy, human resources and self-development, work together and relate to sustainability. The final year includes a 'capstone' experience, where you will have the option to apply your skills to gain employment-relevant experience through a research project or industry internship.

This Honours program has been designed to enable students who have demonstrated substantial ability at an undergraduate level to develop advanced levels of studio practice, supporting theory and an advanced level of research understanding.

While studying Design (Honours), you'll have the ability to choose a project or topic that you're passionate about and have the space and access to studios, software and equipment to explore that further.

Majors

If you are keen to work as a psychologist, this degree will give you a thorough grounding in clinical, developmental, biological, cognitive, and social and organisational psychology.

You will learn how to use interpersonal skills and the principles of counselling to help people with personal, health, vocational and social difficulties.

You will also learn how to apply psychological theories to topics such as thinking and perceiving, motivation, stress, health and criminal activity.

In fourth year, you will begin formal research training and be introduced to professional psychological practice. You will complete an honours research project and study four core courses. You will need to achieve the required level of academic performance in the earlier years of the degree to be eligible for the fourth year of study.
