The Master of Teaching (Primary) builds preservice teacher knowledge and skills to teach across the curriculum. There is an emphasis on researching teacher practice in numeracy and literacy.

There is demand in the sector to build efficacy of graduates in the areas of diagnostic learning, special needs, pedagogical expertise and relationship skill building. This course gives you the opportunity to specialise in these areas. The pedagogical structure allows graduates to work and adapt effectively in complex contemporary learning environments.

Microbiology

Explore the function of biological systems at the molecular level. Using the methods of chemistry, physics, molecular biology and immunology, you’ll study the structure and behaviour of molecules found in biological material. You'll study long-term chronic illness care, Indigenous health, biosciences, emergency healthcare and mental health care. In first year, your hands-on experience begins at our on-campus clinical learning units. In all three years, you'll practice in real-world hospital and healthcare settings.

As a La Trobe nursing student, you'll learn how to care for people of all ages and make ethical, clinical decisions with a compassionate and caring approach. La Trobe's Bachelor of Biomedical Science is ideal for students interested in human biology and allows you to tailor the degree toward your career interests. Combining the fields of biology and medical science, you'll open doors to careers across high-demand sectors including education, healthcare, media and research.

In your first year, develop fundamental knowledge in areas across chemistry, bioscience and health, with an additional focus on psychology and how to work with individuals in health and human services settings.

In your second year, build on these foundations with advanced topics in biomedical sciences that underpin your knowledge across chemistry, metabolic biochemistry, pharmacology and the growing need for expertise in immunology.
