This major is for students with a special passion for nurturing our youngest hearts and minds. Dive straight into the booming world of ICT. Start by honing your fundamental skills in network engineering, programming, web and network security and entrepreneurship in information technology. Then, focus on more specialised topics like campus network design, wireless networking engineering and project management.

Build out your expertise with a mix of electives, from artificial intelligence to virtual reality to Internet of Things programming. Our supportive staff can help you tailor your degree to your career goals.

Professional experience is based around inquiry and experiential learning with iterative skill development opportunities linking knowledge, context and experience to understanding the theoretical dimensions needed to understand practice in school and other learning contexts. You'll complete 60 days of professional experience during the course.

This course recognises the close connections between crime and the human mind and its effects on behaviour. It will position you to work in the criminal justice sector, in fields such as policing, corrections, juvenile justice, crime prevention and advocacy, intelligence, forensics and customs.

You'll study all of the core content areas of the psychological science, from biological foundations to social influences on affect, behaviour and cognition, in addition to strong training in research methods, and the opportunity for study in greater depth in specific areas where staff have research expertise.

In addition you'll study the complex causes of crime and how to contribute to the development of innovative responses to it. You'll examine key issues in criminal justice, and topics such as policing, sentencing and corrections, forensics, and victimisation, will enable you to develop a deeper understanding of key areas of practice and employment. You'll also have the opportunity to hone your skills and build confidence by undertaking a work placement

You’ll explore mathematical concepts, learn how to formulate and model abstract problems and build skills in problem solving, clear thinking and communication. Math is used for analysis, forecasting and modelling and plays a vital role in today’s information and technological age.

If you're looking for a rewarding career in education, La Trobe's Associate Degree of Teacher Education is a perfect pathway to an accredited teaching degree.

When you successfully complete the Associate Degree of Teacher Education, you could progress to a Bachelor of Education (Primary), Bachelor of Education (Secondary) or Bachelor of Early Childhood and Primary Education. You'll also receive advanced standing for up to two years of full-time study.

You'll develop strong foundational skills in professional literacy and numeracy, as well as knowledge of contemporary approaches to learning.
