Civil Engineering (Major)
The Civil Engineering program covers the fields of structural design, geotechnical engineering and water engineering, together with infrastructure design and environmental engineering.

The Bachelor of Accounting will provide you with an in-depth knowledge of accounting, supported by the associated disciplines of law, economics, finance and statistics. Mechanical Engineering (Major)
The mechanical engineering program covers the design of mechanical systems for a wide range of applications, including manufacturing, transportation and energy conversion.
The course delivers fundamental engineering principles, as well as an intensive hands-on laboratory program to provide the skills necessary for the design of machines, ensuring their functionality, safety and reliability.

Information and Communications Technology (ICT) has penetrated into all areas of industry sectors, such as retail, banking, health and education. ICT professionals are required to have cross disciplinary knowledge and skills, while the speed of change in ICT requires professionals to update their knowledge and skills every few years. Web and Mobile Computing (Major)
The widespread deployment of web and mobile devices has made them a target of choice for companies to carry out their everyday business. The contemporary developers are expected to understand the strengths and limitations of web and mobile technologies and fit these to create successful user-friendly web and/or mobile applications. This specialisation is aimed at developing knowledge and skills in theoretical concepts and practical technologies needed to design and develop complex software applications across a range of web and mobile platforms. Students with these knowledge and skills will have greater prospects of finding employment with reputable companies or building their career as self-employed developers.

Work integrated learning
Students will undertake 120 hours fulltime or part-time equivalent industry placements as a Work Integrated Learning (WIL) component which is required for successful completion of the course. You will work in an external organisation in Australia or within a department/division within Western Sydney University carrying out tasks related to ICT. This will provide you with real-world industry experience in Australia. Students can nominate an external organisation of their choice. Students with substantial post-qualification work experience in Australia maybe eligible for advanced standing for this unit.
