Networking (Major)
The Networking major is aimed at providing students with knowledge in emerging areas of networking. It focuses on essential fundamentals as well as advanced knowledge on the principles, practices, protocols and standards in some key areas of the networking discipline. This major prepares students for careers in network security and management, multimedia and wireless communications, and other contemporary and emerging networking areas. Work integrated learning
Students will undertake 120 hours fulltime or part-time equivalent industry placements as a Work Integrated Learning (WIL) component which is required for successful completion of the course. You will work in an external organisation in Australia or within a department/division within Western Sydney University carrying out tasks related to ICT. This will provide you with real-world industry experience in Australia. Students can nominate an external organisation of their choice. Students with substantial post-qualification work experience in Australia maybe eligible for advanced standing for this unit.
