Cinema Studies (Major)
Specialising in cinema studies as part of your Bachelor of Media at UNSW will equip you with the theoretical, historical, and cultural frameworks to understand how and why moving image cultures continue to shape global media industries.

By studying the historical, social, economic, and political contexts of cinema, you’ll engage in forms of film analysis that apply critically informed and ethically based approaches to the art and industry of moviemaking.

This exciting degree focuses on the science and practice of air and space flight; the design, development, testing and production of aerospace vehicles; the maintenance and operation of aircraft; and aerospace research. Our Aerospace Engineering degree focuses on airborne vehicles to meet future employment prospects in Australia (like aerodynamics, flight mechanics, propulsion and structures). The Master of Global Health and Master of Health Leadership and Management is a double degree providing the essential knowledge, skills and attributes to carry out senior managerial and leadership roles in population, clinical and departmental health services. It is designed for those keen to work internationally in health departments, with non-government organisations (NGOs), and with international and bilateral aid agencies. Accelerate your career with a comprehensive education in exercise science and exercise physiology. In just four years and one term, you'll gain both a Bachelor of Applied Exercise Science and a Master of Clinical Exercise Physiology. This combined degree explores the science of human performance and how exercise is used as a rehabilitative and preventative therapy, equipping you to care for both healthy patients and those with chronic disease across two areas of practice.

Exercise scientists specialise in the prescription and delivery of exercise to enhance general health and improve athletic performance. Exercise scientists draw on a broad array of knowledge from subdisciplines such as biomechanics, motor control and exercise prescription to develop and deliver exercise initiatives to improve individual and community health. 

Exercise physiologists expand on the exercise science skillset by using exercise as a rehabilitative and preventative therapy to manage a wide range of chronic diseases including cancers, musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, metabolic, respiratory, neurological and mental health conditions. 
This degree will prepare you to meet the accreditation requirements to work as an exercise scientist and/or exercise physiologist. You'll be qualified to work across a wide range of roles and settings including hospitals, private practices, aged care, mental health clinics and workplace health and rehabilitation.

The Master of Engineering Science (Structural Engineering) will help you develop advanced professional skills in computational analysis and design of steel, and in reinforced, composite and pre-stressed concrete structures.

It is designed for practising structural engineers and recent graduates planning a career in structural or civil engineering.

You will investigate and gain practical experience in the structural integrity of materials used in buildings, bridges, dams, tunnels, roads, pavements and other structures when exposed to natural phenomena or hostile environments.

The typical two-year program, sitting within the UNSW School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, comprises 16 courses and features complex, open-ended enquiry-based projects as well as many other opportunities to help you become a leader in the field.

The program offers advanced disciplinary knowledge courses in the likes of structural stability, pre-stressed and reinforced concrete design, bridge engineering, advanced materials technology and computational structural mechanics.

In addition, you will develop a systematic approach to solving problems, as well as core project planning skills and the ability to analyse, interpret and communicate results proficiently.

Those with a degree or extensive prior professional experience in a related area can apply for credit of up to 50% of a program.

Medical science is the foundation that the practice of medicine is built on. This degree delves into how the human body functions and responds to disease and drug treatments. It incorporates facets of several scientific disciplines to provide you with an extensive understanding of the human body.

The Bachelor of Medical Science explores:

• The natural defences of the body (immunology)
• The structure and function of the brain (neuroscience).
• This degree provides the basis for a career in biomedical research and is also an appropriate first degree if you’re planning to progress to graduate medical or paramedical degrees.

Study the smallest forms of life: bacteria, viruses, archaea, fungi and protozoa. These fascinating organisms cause disease in humans, animals and plants and spoil our food. On the positive side, they also turn the biological wheels on Earth and are responsible for the sustainability of life.
