Business Analytics (Major)

When you study business analytics at the UNSW Business School you’ll be studying at the top Business School in the Asia Pacific. We’re ranked 1st in Australia, 2nd in the Asia Pacific and 16th in the world in Information Systems by the Association of Information Systems. You’ll learn to source data, data analysis and apply data insights. Skills in business analytics can be applied to a diverse range of industries. By learning business analytics you’ll develop the skills and knowledge to find meaning and extract value from data by applying creativity to real-world problems.

In addition to statistical modelling, programming and database management, you’ll study with an emphasis on the ethical and legal issues of data governance. The Master of Public Health (Extension)/Master of Health Leadership and Management will enable you to specialise in both public health and health management, allowing you to develop research skills in public health. This double degree will give you advanced disciplinary knowledge and skills to undertake population health and health services management roles in government, community and health service settings in Australia and internationally.

You will gain a deep understanding of public health and health management, including epidemiology, biostatistics, social determinants of health, health promotion, population-targeted health research methods, leadership and workforce management. The Master of Global Health (Extension)/Master of Infectious Diseases Intelligence will provide you with advanced disciplinary knowledge and skills to undertake infectious diseases prevention and control and health services management roles in government, community and health service settings with a focus on international settings.

The degree, which features three electives in International Health, fosters a sophisticated understanding and application across a complex body of multidisciplinary knowledge including infectious diseases intelligence, policy design, implementation and evaluation. This degree also includes a research project which will cultivate your critical thinking and communication skills as you explore contemporary global health issues.

Environmental Law and Sustainable Development
Environmental protection and the quest for sustainable development that can meet the needs of both present and future generations have become pressing common concerns at the national and the international level. In past decades, national and international law has developed a wide range of sector-specific and creative cross-cutting approaches to respond to these challenges. 

This Master of Laws specialisation will provide you with a strong theoretical and practical understanding of the environmental legal system, the frameworks of and tools for sustainable environmental management, and the complex policy issues presented by the environmental challenges of the 21st century. Environmental law encompasses a wide and diverse range of issues: energy, climate change, biodiversity conservation, water and oceans, agriculture, finance and international development, but also (and especially in Australia, as one of the world’s most urban nations) issues like city planning, commons, platform and sharing economies, transport, housing and corporate social responsibility. 

You'll acquire the skills and understanding needed to address the ‘wicked problems’ posed by environmental sustainability challenges and be equipped to pursue a career in environmental law and environmental policy.
