The Master of Simulation & Immersive Technologies will equip you to become a future-ready design leader. You’ll graduate capable of understanding and meeting the growing demand for immersive practices across many industries.

This program offers a unique human-centric and design-led approach to technologies and focuses on human perception and experience. This degree is designed to accommodate the needs of busy professionals from a wide range of backgrounds. You will choose to study fully online, or in blended mode with part-time and full-time options available. In blended mode, you will study core courses online and attend two intensive face-to-face meetups per year on-campus or at our industry partner facilities. You will also have full access to all campus facilities throughout your study.

We’ve designed this degree for innovative thinkers, offering flexibility to tailor the degree to your interests. With 26 majors to choose from, you can opt to study a single major or combine multiple interests with a double major. This degree also allows you to declare or change your major in stage two of study, meaning you can explore several different disciplines before deciding on the path that’s right for you.
Work Integrated Learning (WIL) opportunities
At UNSW Science, we focus on delivering the optimal balance of theory and practical work to equip you with the skills and experience to fast-track your career. The SCIF3199 Science Work Placement course gives you the opportunity to gain practical work experience through an internship. Previous work placement students have interned with IT companies, start-ups, government departments and large biomedical and biotechnology companies. Along with new professional skills and connections, you’ll also gain course credit for your work placement.
Research internship course
The SCIF2041 Research Internship course gives you the opportunity to complete a short theoretical or experimental research project in a world-leading research team supervised by a member of academic staff. Internships may also involve a placement outside of UNSW, in the form of externally funded research programs.

The Master of Infectious Diseases Intelligence (MIDI) (Extension) prepares you for a career in health emergencies, outbreaks, infectious diseases risk assessment and emergency response related to infectious diseases and other threats.

You will gain advanced disciplinary knowledge and skills needed for professional practice in control of infectious diseases and emergencies across a range of contexts including ministries and departments of health, government organisations, non-government and voluntary organisations, and primary care and community healthcare services in both public and private sectors. This degree also includes a research project which will cultivate your critical thinking and communication skills as you explore major issues in the control of infectious diseases. The degree fosters judgment-ready practitioners who can contribute to improving population health outcomes specific to infectious diseases in diverse settings.

This degree is designed for anyone wishing to gain a better understanding of infectious diseases intelligence in the era of new and emerging disease threats, and management approaches for the identification, assessment, prevention and control of infectious diseases.

Everything we use is made of materials, yet only a handful of these materials occur naturally. All the rest have been microscopically engineered originally by nature, but increasingly by materials engineers/scientists.

Materials science is the foundation for creating high-performance materials such as metals, ceramics, polymers and composites. In this degree, you’ll learn about developing high-performance materials that are lighter, greener and stronger – for use in every aspect of technology. You’ll also develop the theoretical and practical skills to improve materials for aerospace, automotive, biomedical and information technology-based industries.

This degree builds a foundation in mathematics, chemistry and physics, before moving into the fundamental properties and structures of materials. You’ll investigate aspects of engineering design and the application and selection of materials before concentrating on a research project to sharpen your experimental and analytical skills.

This multidisciplinary degree uses a combination of lectures, practical hands-on laboratory work and research and design projects. It also incorporates components of professional communication, management aspects of business and industrial training.

The Bachelor of Criminology & Criminal Justice/Law is a five-year double degree that will provide you with the opportunity to gain valuable qualifications of professional importance to the public sector, criminal justice system, community service, business and legal practice.

In this degree, you’ll develop excellent analytical skills, a capacity for scholarly research, effective oral and written communication skills, and a commitment to personal and professional development, ethical practice and social responsibility.
