UNSW’s Bachelor of Commerce/Arts is a double degree that will equip you with business experience and expertise, combined with the creativity, analytical and critical thinking skills that come with an arts degree. Both degrees offer flexibility, allowing you to shape your degree to match your ambitions and interests.
The Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) has been designed with consultation from industry to set you up for lifelong employability. By combining your BCom with a Bachelor of Arts, you can choose from a diverse range of majors and subjects in the arts, humanities and social sciences. Business Analytics (Major)
When you study business analytics at the UNSW Business School you’ll be studying at the top Business School in the Asia Pacific. We’re ranked 1st in Australia, 2nd in the Asia Pacific and 16th in the world in Information Systems by the Association of Information Systems. You’ll learn to source data, data analysis and apply data insights. Skills in business analytics can be applied to a diverse range of industries. By learning business analytics you’ll develop the skills and knowledge to find meaning and extract value from data by applying creativity to real-world problems.
In addition to statistical modelling, programming and database management, you’ll study with an emphasis on the ethical and legal issues of data governance. You’ll graduate with a holistic framework to span the bridge between business problem owners and technical experts. Do you currently work in the underground hard rock or coal mining industry, in the field of strata control? Or is this an area you'd like to progress into? The Master of Mine Geotechnical Engineering is the postgraduate degree for you.
You'll receive a foundational education in fundamental principles of rock mechanics and geotechnical engineering, as well as practical strata control applications. This degree teaches you practical knowledge to become a mine strata control engineer.
This degree is designed for professionals working at mine sites and are offered in a flexible delivery format; many are available in distance mode with a limited number of face-to-face workshops/sessions. The Master of Actuarial Studies (Extension) equips you with the data analytics and quantitative risk management training for success in an actuarial career, or a career in finance.
The extension program adds four courses to the Master of Actuarial Studies. This allows you to complete the professionally accredited courses to become an actuary, as well as to broaden your knowledge through electives in actuarial studies, risk management, business, or options in mathematics and in computer science. The program is accredited by the Actuaries Institute.
The program has also earned the University-Earned Credit (UEC) program status for Financial Mathematics (FM) exam and Statistics for Risk Modelling (SRM) exam. This UEC program facilitates the pathway for students who pursue the Society of Actuaries (SOA) profession by providing opportunities to earn credit for SOA exams.
