The Master of City Planning at UNSW is a two-year, professionally accredited postgraduate degree that allows you to bring experience from previous study to launch a career in urban and regional planning.

Cinema studies
What makes cinematic experiences move our hearts and minds so deeply? Discover how cinema can affect us powerfully, through the creative combination of various methods, techniques, narratives, and messages. 

This specialisation will develop your skills in critical thinking, researching, planning, and presenting conceptual projects. You’ll understand the intersection between entertainment, politics, and aesthetics, with a critical exploration of political cinema, cult film, experimental and mainstream movies.

Hone your critical voice while developing skills in close and careful film analysis and deepen your understanding of the intersections between popular entertainment, politics, and aesthetics. 

You’ll have opportunities to apply your knowledge to practical industry experiences such as collaborating on a short film, running a film festival, and doing an industry internship.

Upon graduating, you’ll be ready for a career in creative and cultural industries, including film journalism, festival programming, distribution, advertising, policy, and education.

The Bachelor of Design/Bachelor of Media is a four-year double degree that shows you how to enlighten others with creative thinking and persuasive communications. Learn strategies to interest, inform, and inspire others while challenging conventions and designing new solutions to old problems.

Public Relations (Major)
Choosing to specialise in public relations & advertising for your Bachelor of Media at UNSW will provide you with practical skills, knowledge and experience you need for a career in these exciting and dynamic promotional industries. Selecting from a focused set of courses, you will gain practical experience and a critical perspective on advertising, public relations, and communication.

You’ll learn to think critically about public relations and advertising. You will also gain hands-on experience in areas such as; strategic communication, campaign development, crisis communication, branding, media relations and social media, as you’re mentored by a diverse team of staff with years of industry and research experience.

Combining industry experience with practical skills in public relations and advertising, media and communication theory (as well as electives in humanities and social sciences)—this degree will set you up for a dynamic career that moves with the future of media industries.

UNSW’s Bachelor of Commerce/Arts is a double degree that will equip you with business experience and expertise, combined with the creativity, analytical and critical thinking skills that come with an arts degree. The Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) has been designed with consultation from industry to set you up for lifelong employability. The UNSW Bachelor of Fine Arts/Engineering (Honours) is a double-degree that can be completed in 5.7 years full-time, or the part-time equivalent.

With distinct and focused specialisations in music, animation and moving image, art theory, and visual arts – you can focus deeply on the creative field that inspires you.

The type of engineer you’ll become often depends on which of the 19 engineering specialisations you choose.

The field of Engineering is rapidly evolving. Quantum Engineering is a new approach to working with quantum technology. Quantum Engineering combines the broad skills of engineering with fundamental physics in a unique way that allows engineers to solve contemporary problems and engineer solutions for the future.  Quantum mechanics opens the doors for Quantum Engineers to leverage quantum physics to deliver unprecedented solutions to engineering problems.

Quantum Engineers specialise in how high-frequency, nanometer-scale electronics can be made to harness quantum nature. When you study Quantum Engineering at UNSW, you'll develop the skillset required for the next generation of microelectronics, microwave and telecommunications engineers.

In this bachelor's degree, you'll learn how to work with a range of quantum systems, from high-frequency signals to very small electronic circuits.

Our expert academics will teach you about novel systems where the quantum phenomenon is the core aspect such as quantum computers, quantum sensors and quantum communications. Dietetics is an allied health profession that applies the science of food and nutrition to optimise health, treat illnesses and prevent the onset of chronic diseases. A dietitian can help people manage health conditions such as diabetes, cancer, heart disease, kidney disease, gastrointestinal diseases, obesity and food allergies. 

Food innovation examines all aspects of the food value chain from agriculture, food technology, food manufacturing and the retail sector, through to innovations and digital technologies. It looks at how we can improve the food system to address current and future food equity and sustainability challenges. 

This unique combination of complementary disciplines expands your career options as you'll be able to work both within and outside of the healthcare sector. At the end of the five years, you'll graduate with both a bachelor's and a master's degree, which will give you a competitive advantage in the job market. This degree will prepare you for clinical roles in hospitals, private practices and health organisations, as well as opening the door for you to pursue roles in the food sector including agriculture, food businesses and food not-for-profit organisations. The Master of Global Health (Extension)/Master of Infectious Diseases Intelligence will provide you with advanced disciplinary knowledge and skills to undertake infectious diseases prevention and control and health services management roles in government, community and health service settings with a focus on international settings.

The degree, which features three electives in International Health, fosters a sophisticated understanding and application across a complex body of multidisciplinary knowledge including infectious diseases intelligence, policy design, implementation and evaluation.
