Financial Technology (FinTech) Specialisation

Financial technology (FinTech) is a rapidly growing field in finance where technology is used to create, enhance, and sometimes disrupt financial services. Think: peer-to-peer lending, robo-advice, and decentralised finance like Bitcoin.

In the past few years, financial technology has been a hot topic at industry conferences both in Australia and worldwide. This major will get you in on the ground floor of this rapidly evolving area. This double degree is for students who want to pursue a career in the related disciplines of materials engineering and chemical engineering. Where materials scientists concern themselves mainly with the underlying science of high-performance materials such as metals, ceramics, polymers and composites, chemical engineers focus on turning raw materials into useful, marketable products from fertilisers, drugs and plastics, to paper, paint and food. The UNSW Master of Public Policy and Governance is a two-year full-time postgraduate degree, that applies a social science perspective to real-world questions of policy, research and management in modern organisations. You'll also learn about key institutions of criminal justice including the police, courts and prison, and the impact they have in the community.
