The Master of Engineering (Biomedical Engineering) is a two-year full-time degree that'll help you develop the specialised skills and knowledge to build a successful career in Biomedical Engineering and gain a recognised accreditation. This degree is designed for students who don’t have a formal engineering accreditation but have an undergraduate degree in engineering, health or medical sciences.

When you study the Master of Engineering (Biomedical Engineering) you'll expand your knowledge, skills and develop job prospects through a specialised study in the area of Biomedical Engineering. In this degree, you’ll learn about engineering applications in medicine including neuromodulation and bioinstrumentation, biomechanics and rehabilitation, tissue engineering, bioinformatics, as well as medical device design. As a part of your studies, you’ll also complete an open-ended research project.

You’ll be required to complete 60 days of industrial training in Biomedical Engineering and/or other Engineering fields, through this you’ll receive industry exposure and professional practice. Your degree will include a compulsory Master's Thesis which adds a research component to your study. You’ll graduate as an accredited Biomedical Engineer, with an Engineers Australia accreditation. After completing this postgraduate degree you’ll meet national and international benchmarks to take your career to the next level.

The SCIF3199 Science Work Placement course gives you the opportunity to gain practical work experience through an internship. Previous work placement students have interned with IT companies, start-ups, government departments and large biomedical and biotechnology companies. Along with new professional skills and connections, you’ll also gain course credit for your work placement.

• The SCIF2041 Research Internship course gives you the opportunity to complete a short theoretical or experimental research project in a world-leading research team supervised by a member of academic staff. Internships may also involve a placement outside of UNSW, in the form of externally funded research programs.

• Along with a thorough understanding of the life sciences, this degree will give you the tools to understand intellectual property law, commercial principles and deep contextual knowledge of the Australian and international biotechnology industries. The UNSW Bachelor of Architectural Studies is a three-year degree when studied full time. Here, you will learn to design buildings and their surrounds to meet the needs of the people who use them. Taking sustainability, culture and the economy into consideration – you’ll participate in design studio sessions and lectures that cover a range of engaging topics and academic subjects. These include everything from architectural design to architectural communications, architectural history and theory, architectural science, the built environment and technologies, and architectural construction and structures.

When combined with the UNSW Master of Architecture, this degree will give you the qualification to practice as a registered architect, and a strong head start in contemporary and multidisciplinary design practice.

Criminal Justice and Criminology
Crime and criminal justice are matters of pressing public concern and considerable controversy. Newly emerging problems offer challenges and require rethinking conventional understandings of criminology and criminal justice. The Criminal Justice and Criminology specialisation in the Master of Laws will provide you with advanced interdisciplinary knowledge and skills to research and analyse current debates, emerging problems, and new criminal law and criminal justice developments. The specialisation draws on the recognised expertise of UNSW in research and teaching of criminal justice and criminology, criminal law and procedure.
