Integrated Design (Major)

Integrated design at UNSW is a studio based and research-led university experience. You will develop skills in concept development, making, critical thinking , technology, research, and management, leading you to a diverse range of careers.

As part of a passionate, driven and connected community at UNSW Arts, Design & Architecture (ADA), you will combine creativity, entrepreneurship and innovation with the ethical, environmental and cultural responsibilities you have as a designer. You will put theory into practice by applying critical thinking and design methodologies to a range of professional experiences

This double degree enables students to gain skills and knowledge in the technical field of Computer Science as well as in a variety of subjects in Humanities and Social Sciences.

The Computer Science component emphasises comprehension of the basic principles behind computing tools, operating systems, compilers and translators, and computer hardware. You'll study the representation of data and data structures and the design of algorithms, as well as the creation of hardware and software tools and the role of non-computing elements in the design and development process.

In the Arts component, you'll choose a major and a minor from a range of disciplines, including languages, arts, history, philosophy and business. In whichever area you study, you'll develop transferable skills and in-depth knowledge, and gain the tools to think critically, communicate effectively and conduct independent research.

The Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) has been designed with consultation from industry to set you up for lifelong employability. By combining your BCom with a Bachelor of Arts, you can choose from a diverse range of majors and subjects in the arts, humanities and social sciences. The UNSW Bachelor of Commerce/Design is a double-degree that can be completed in 4 full-time, or the part-time equivalent.

This degree is designed for students who are passionate about both the Law and Engineering, and are interested in learning about the connection between the two.

The Law degree aims to develop graduates who have excellent analytical skills, a capacity for scholarly research, effective oral and written communication skills, and a commitment to personal and professional development, ethical practice and social responsibility.

In Engineering, you can choose from one of 18 specialised disciplines, ranging from traditional areas such as construction and civil engineering to growing fields like photovoltaics and solar energy engineering.
