The Graduate Diploma in City Planning at UNSW is a three-term postgraduate program that allows you to build on previous study or professional experience to upskill or progress into a career related to urban and regional planning.

Building on UNSW Art & Design’s experience of delivering leading postgraduate education for arts and cultural professionals, the Master of Curating and Cultural Leadership (MCCL) is designed with extensive industry engagement and consultation. This degree provides pathways for both those with backgrounds in museums, galleries, arts organisations, art history and art practice and those who wish to enter curating or cultural leadership from other professional backgrounds.

This double degree combines critical business knowledge from the Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) with aviation management skills, setting you up for a successful, global career in the aviation industry. 

When you combine studies in business and aviation you can supercharge your career in the aviation industry with a unique mix of skills. The commerce component of this double degree provides you with a fundamental understanding of general business principles and allows you to develop specialist knowledge in a business area of your choice.

The aviation management degree shares a common academic core with the flying stream, replacing flight training with a range of courses in management areas such as operations management, aviation economics, law and regulations, airline marketing and safety. Students are exposed to current aviation topics and often work in teams to solve contemporary air transport problems. Learning exercises range from operating a start-up airline in a management simulation to exploring the cognitive abilities of humans in the fast-developing environment of aviation.

UNSW’s Business School’s Master of Commerce Extension (MCom (Ext)) is a postgraduate coursework degree that can be completed in two-years full-time. Designed in consultation with industry, this degree prepares you with a depth of knowledge, a breadth of experience, and the hands-on experience needed to succeed across diverse careers in business.

International business Specialisation

Why study international business?

With a specialisation in international business, you can become a professional globetrotter, join a borderless boardroom, and change how the world does business. This study area will set you up with strong foundations in business, commerce, and/or economics, with the added bonus of one-year compulsory overseas exchange. You can even incorporate language study into your program.

Computer Science is the study of the design, construction and use of computer systems. The Bachelor of Science (Honours) program in Computer Science and Engineering is a 1 year full-time or 2 year part-time award undertaken by eligible students after completion of a 3 year Bachelor of Science program in a relevant discipline and offers students an opportunity to deepen their understanding of the discipline through the completion of advanced coursework and a research thesis.

This double degree is designed for students who want to pursue a career in biomedical engineering through the technical base of materials science and engineering. It focuses on the development, processing and application of materials used in many areas of biomedical engineering.

A biomedical engineer can look at a medical problem and analyse it in engineering terms to find a solution. Materials science is the underlying science of high-performance materials such as metals, ceramics, polymers and composites.

You'll learn theoretical and practical skills that will put you at the forefront of innovation in developing systems to maintain and enhance life, as well as how to design body parts or tissues, develop artificial organs, improve robotic surgery, invent health technologies and more. It involves a four-year Bachelor of Engineering in Materials Science (Honours) and a Master of Biomedical Engineering in the fifth year.

The UNSW Master of Laws (LLM) is a one-year full-time postgraduate degree that offers you the opportunity to develop an advanced and contemporary understanding of one or more areas of legal study, acquire further expertise and enhance your career prospects.

Corporate, Commercial and Taxation Law
Corporate, Commercial & Taxation Law courses deliver highly relevant legal knowledge in a practical commercial and regulatory context. This Master of Laws specialisation will allow you to expand your expertise by pursuing new areas of study or explore existing knowledge at a deeper level.  

You'll be taught by a combination of UNSW Law & Justice academics, international visitors, distinguished guest lecturers and leading visiting practitioners. Courses range from core offerings in corporate law, governance, insurance law and insolvency to new areas such as sports sponsorship and marketing.  

Lawyers who require an understanding of taxation and the tax system and how these impact business decisions and transactions can also gain deeper knowledge with this specialisation. Our tax offerings harness the prestige and academic expertise of UNSW Law & Justice and UNSW Business School.

Media, Intellectual Property & Technology Law
New media is becoming an increasingly dominant form of mass communication, challenging established frameworks with disruptive technology. Individuals from various backgrounds must now understand how the law affects and regulates their activities in this environment. Media laws influence how people communicate and how both old and new media operate. To cope with the regulatory impact of this increased reliance on the digital sphere, established legal doctrines such as defamation and privacy are being used in new ways. 

Meanwhile, intellectual property laws incentivise new creations, create value in the form of property with legally enforceable rights, and limit how others may access and use those creations. Fast-emerging developments such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), blockchain and bio-technologies raise questions about the legal rights and responsibilities that accompany the usage of new technologies. 

This Master of Laws specialisation develops a depth of knowledge through a strong theoretical and practical understanding of the different laws and regulatory issues that can arise in the context of new and old media, intellectual property and technology law.
